Like a lot of your members, we pay for “quality” NOT tolerance. You’re a Fortune 500 company, you can afford monster servers. No excuses.

I literally watched my download half way through get throttled all the way down to 10MB/s. I called my internet company and it is XBL. I’ve done ALL trouble shooting...the problem is XBL. Stop taking your customers as another statistic and realize you
have committed loyal customers on your hands.

    :)

    slow internet speed

Before I elaborate, quick question: Are you being throttled by your ISP provider?

I ask this because I have a rather fast internet connection. However, because of my uncapped contract, my ISP provider is constantly throttling my data usage once it reaches excessive amounts. My suggestion to you is join gaming servers that match your connection speed. Otherwise, you're setting yourself up for laggy, horrid gameplay.

Personally, I haven't done enough research on satellite internet to talk about it. But it could be a solution to your slow internet speed problems.

    Just Wondering...

    @Stud

    It does matter.

If some people are downloading their content based on their actual internet speed and others of us aren't I'd like to know why and I'm sure others would too. If this is the case then it's apparently not MS throttling (unless it's regional) so it's more likely
my ISP throttling which they aren't supposed to be doing.

Xbox has ZERO control over your internet speed.

Your internet connection is managed and controlled by your ISP and your router.

If you're trying to connect to a game server or download a game and seeing your speed drops then that's either:

    A) The game developers server

    B) Your connection through your router to the internet

    C) Your DNS Server entries from your ISP

These are a few things that you'll run into most often.

Hard reset the Xbox by holding down the power button on the front of the Xbox for 15 seconds. After the 15 seconds let go of the power button then restart the Xbox

Power cycle your network by unplugging the power to the modem & router for about 60 seconds

    - If that fails then, go to Settings > Network > Network Settings > Forget Wireless Network

    - Go to Settings > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Alternate MAC Address > Clear > let the Xbox Restart?

    - Try and reconnect to your wireless network again

    Game Server Connection issues -

Go to Advanced settings > DNS Settings > Manual - Set the Primary DNS as 8.8.8.8 and the Secondary as 8.8.4.4

Go to Settings > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Alternate MAC Address > Clear > let the Xbox Restart

  6. If there's anybody who would throttle your speed, it's most likely going to be your ISP. Downloads from the Xbox Live servers aren't necessarily going to be at the full bandwidth of your home's connection speed, commonly due to network congestion of other
users trying to download their games too (especially on a day when a new game releases), or your local network settings are hindering your speeds. Also, I've noticed that the Xbox Live store servers have been experiencing random outages in the
past few days, so that might have been contributing to your problem as well.

Xbox one download speed is super slow!

As mentioned above, Try a wired connection to help with the download speeds, If that does not help and you are still experiencing slow download speeds your Internet Service Provider could be throttling your speeds for high bandwidth downloads

    Slow downloads/updates on Xbox one

Is this at all times? And what sort of speeds are you averaging when downloading, I had amazing speeds first few months of my internet but then my provider throttled the Internet.
