Please sign into your xbox account to play this game

Hey guys,

Having an issue only on one game overwatch where i get disconnected and it says you need to be signed into your xbox account to play this game. Been going on for 3 days now. Does not happen on any other game or app. It also throws me out of party chat to
while playing overwatch only.

Any idea what's going on and how i can fix this?

I've also contacted blizzard to as its solely on their game it does this.

Try a reset of the console or maybe reinstalling the game?

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out to us in the forums for this issue.

Try performing the hard reset exactly like this.

Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 30 seconds. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

I totally understand your frustrations but no worries it's a great improvement that you are able to sign in to the accounts now.

If I may ask, may I know which account was the Forza Horizon 5 game purchased at?

If it's on your account, please sign in to your account on the console, then press the Xbox menu button > go to Personalization > My home Xbox > Then please select Set this account as home Xbox.

Once it's confirmed, sign out from the console and have your son sign in on his account then try to play the game Forza Horizon 5 to see if it works.

Please double-check if your account is successfully set as home Xbox, by signing your account where the game Minecraft was purchased > press the Xbox menu button on your controller > please go to settings > Personalization > My home Xbox > then please check which option do you see.

If you see the option to remove this account as my home Xbox, which means your account is already set as home Xbox.

If you see the option set this account as home Xbox, which means your account is not yet set as home Xbox. If so, please click on Set this account as home Xbox. Once the settings are saved, please sign out of your account and let your daughter's account sign in and try to play the game Minecraft to see if it works.

Can you please verify if are you trying to play the game on the Xbox console?

If yes, you can set your account as home Xbox on your brother's console to enable game sharing and for your brother to play Minecraft on his account:

1. Sign in to the account where you have the Minecraft game on your brother's console.
2. Press the Xbox menu button.
3. Go to settings.
4. Then Personalization.
5. Click my home Xbox.
6. Set it as make this as my home Xbox.
7. Install Minecraft and sign out of your account and let your brother sign in to his account and play the game.
8. While on your console, sign in to your account that has the Minecraft license and play the game.
