    Please sign in with your controller


    Turn on xbox, says please sign in with controller. When I do that, it goes to a grey rectangle covering most of the screen with a white moving ring in the middle. Stays that way until I give up. Longest so far is over 30 minutes. Have unplugged and power
    cycled everything. Xbox connection is ethernet cable. Internet working optimally for all other purposes. Xbox support seems specifically designed to eliminate possibility of real time communication with a human. Suggestions?

    Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely.
    Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes.
    Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.
    Instructions followed precisely. No effect.

    Just tried it one more time for the [Mod Removed - Inappropriate] of it and it worked. Hopefully it will remain functional when I fire it up tomorrow.
