Please recommend a good 3.0 USB hard drive

My husband is looking to add more storage to his xbox one and I would like to purchase a hard drive, at least 1 TB. He says it has to be 3.0.

Recommendations or any I should avoid?

Which hard drive is recommended MS?

Which hard drive, Microsoft recommends
for the Xbox One. I know
it must be a USB 3.0. But is there
a manufacturer may recommend the
MS? Possibly even a specific model?

Is your external hard drive rated USB 3.0?

Did you try your external drive on all the USB ports?

If you have a PC or laptop and plug it in, does the computer detect it?

The Xbox One supports all types of external USB 3.0 hard drives, but, could you let us know which drive you purchased please?

 

I personally use, and recommend an USB 3.0 Seagate 2TB Expansion HDD for Xbox One, as external drive is powered by mains plug pack.

Laptop External HDDs powered by USB port, are thinner; but, are also slower than Desktop HDDs used in mains powered external drives.

People recommend Western Digital (WD) external HDDs: But, they tend to use Green drives that don't perform well, and tend to fail sooner etc.

I have been using 2 Western Digital Passport Ultras with 2TB for about a year now and they work flawlessly. $85 on Amazon.

 

I use the WD Ultras myself, they work great and are perfect for this application.
