Ive been on xbox live for a long time.. My gamer tag is "" but I really want to change it. I tried to change it to "Tazzy" but there was already an account called that but the account has never been touched what so ever... is there anything you
can do?

No. If the account is in use there is no way to free it up. The tag system is in use on other Microsoft services as well so even if it's not being used for the Xbox, it could be in use elsewhere.

 

Xbox has sent me a link to come here and sort it out, its a really old account what I forgotten my email and password to... the account hasn't been touched what so ever, I made it years ago and went to PS3 I no longer have the details

 

Without the details required there is no way to free it up. Unfortunately, these rules are put in place for security purposes.

 

If the account is yours, you would need to contact support again. As long as you can verify that you are the owner of the account, they can get you the email and you would have to reset the password.
