Have you been able to connect since you have posted this issue? I can see on your Xbox Live profile on Xbox.com that you are up and running on FIFA 14, but I wanted to double check with you to make sure.

funnily enough my prayers were answered about half an hour after i posted. up and running again for me now. what is MS doing about compensating players who were affected by this major outage?

Did You tried this steps:

We have received word from the proper teams that this issue has been resolved. For those who are still experiencing issues connecting to Xbox Live, please try the following steps. If the issue continues after the following steps, please post a new thread
detailing the issue so you can receive support tailored to you.

•Clear the Xbox 360 System Cache three times

•Test your Xbox 360 network connection by going to the Settings tab on the Xbox 360 dashboard, select System, select Network Settings, select your network and select 'Test Xbox Live Connection'.

•Power off your Xbox 360 and power back on
