Please mute Kinect when playing online!

Amazes me how many conversations or babies crying in the background you hear. Wouldn't bother me so much if muting would always work in games such as plants vs zombies.

When I'm in party chat I mute when I use snap and other commands. Xbox Record That I just say because I enjoy other people saying it. Get to ask them watch just happened and remind myself to go check out their clip later when I'm done playing.

When I am playing with random people in online games I've sent a ton of you should probably mute your Kinect unless you like people listening in on your family conversations. Have it noted on my phone so I can send copy and paste it through smart glass with
instructions on how to mute the Kinect. Seriously should be a "Xbox Mute Kinect" voice command instead of having to stop playing and go through a couple menus to do it. Every update that improves the Kinect should have a video that explains the features, and
remind them to calibrate it.

The one thing i learned when playing call of duty games online, is mute everyone.

 

I guess if your not worried about hearing random people online just put yourself in a Xbox LIVE Party whether your on your own or with friends.

Or is the option still in the settings so you can only hear people on your friends list?

If you like talking to random people online though you will always get the odd ones that make a bit of noise lets say.

 

I agree many a game of Fifa have I gotten a ton of abuse when winning, because people don't realise that their Kinect is on an I can hear them.

 

Either start a lonesome party to silence everyone or just use the mute functions. None of these options are particularly time consuming.

It doesn't really bother me unless I run into one of those *** who just wants to talk *** the entire time. I have mine muted though :]

I actually enjoy hearing what goes on in peoples homes while playing. It's like reality TV... but only audio. Sometimes I will even join in and talk smack about them... great fun.

 

The Halo series had a wonderful option I have yet to truly see elsewhere - the ability to mute everyone on the opposing team via in-game options. This was very useful to avoid all of the arrogant winners or sore losers. Then all you had to worry about was
your own team. For that, you had a similar option to mute everyone. This kind of setup should be a system-wide option IMO. Have it set up so in team games you can hear everyone, only your team, or no one. MS could implement it similar to the game-specific
options they had on the Xbox 360.

 

I got to say though, in all my years of gaming online I have heard some "Weird and Wondefull" things over the mic lol

These days though, even if I'm online on my own I always go into a Xbox LIVE Party, sure there's loads of great people out there, all too often though you meet them people online that either love to play loud music down the mic or worse, shout some sort
of abuse at you, they do make me laugh these "Internet Warriors" ;-)

 

I thought you could just leave use kinect mic for chat unticked?

Most people probably don't even think about it. I turned off VOIP in BF4 so people couldn't hear me and I couldn't hear them. I then noticed my speaker mic would show I was talking and I was like how can that be? I then realized it was coming through the
Kinect. Sorry to everyone if they had to hear my game rage come through it.
