Please Microsoft give us true controller customization

I have been waiting for years for dev's to stop forcing us to use their controller schemes and just allow us to configure our controller as we see fit. I'm awestruck that this simple feature is not commonplace in every game we play and I beg Microsoft to
appease all of us gamers that have ever said "I just want the bloody crouch on my thumb-stick or the jump on my bumper or (place button preference here)." I do not want to buy a hacked controller or a 3rd party controller. It's in no-ones best interest.

Please create a controller configuration utility on the Xbox One (and 360?) that supersedes the game controller layout. I'm not even saying you have to add things like rapid fire, just the basic ability to alter button placement. These things in no way
are unfair even during tournament matches. Setting up your controller to play most effectively for each individual is the most blatantly obvious thing and I don't know why it is constantly forgotten.

I'm not against the addition of button tweaking either. Rapid fire or macro defining should be seriously considered as well. We are gamers and we should be able to decide how we want to play. It seems we are constantly being told how we can play with
our toys and this needs to stop. You need no more proof of this desire for freedom in games then to look at the popularity of games like Minecraft or even your flagship Halo. The Forge was a dream come true for gamers who wanted to get something else out
of their Halo experience.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying individual freedom should negatively impact community play. Competitive multiplayer is a priority on Xbox and Macro gaming is not a proper fit for that kind of thing. That being said, since you would be writing the
code this is a feature that could easily be disabled by dev's on a per event basis. Let's get this implemented while Xbox One is in it's infancy so game patching is at a minimum.

Xbox One is in desperate need of a game changer, a reason why it is more fun. Freedom is fun.

Microsoft Please create a motion controller!

Please Microsoft, give us a motion controller, for more precision in FPS games!!! There is no sense the most based on FPS console doesn't have a motion controller.

 

Suppose MS goes full reverse, what problems do they face?

Controller button mapping IS a big deal, and the addition of button Macro's on a Console would be a huge deal. Even though it is widely used across numerous PC games, often being modded in, it has never been a feature on consoles.

You don't seem to realize that a thing doesn't have to be widely used to be widely loved. A thing also doesn't have to widely used to create massive public outcry when taken away. It's all about personal freedoms and that's what a feature like this offers,
more personal freedom.

We also know that personal freedom issues are one of a number of large complaints about the Xbox. It's about time Microsoft started daring to step outside their comfort zone and bridge some of these gaps felt by gamers.

Lets see real cross platform compatibility. They have already lost players to Sony why not let the fans that want an Xbox, but all their friends have gone to Sony, buy an Xbox and play with them. Xbox has already lost access to games that are available
on Sony because of their unwillingness to crossplay with other platforms.

Lets see the Xbox share with the PC. Their desire for complete control led to owners of Unreal Tournament 3 not being able to download user created levels that were available to be downloaded by PC and PS3 owners.

Will the addition of button mapping and macros be a gamechanger? Maybe not on it's own, but it's easy enough to implement and add it with a couple other small gamercentric options and instantly Xbox is fighting for the cause. How about a few buck monthly
fee to play unlimited Indie games? - - Power to the people.

 

First explain to me how something that isnt widley used is widely loved? If cable television wasnt widely used you couldnt say it was widely loved.

Second explain to me why you first say its a game changer then you back track and say it isnt?

Third umm Im not exactly sure what personal freedoms have to do with Xbox, nor do I understand why its an issue.

Cross platform is an issue because most developers dont want to take the time to ensure they can control the content. The Golf Club releases later today and features courses made from PC, PS and Xbox. So clearly its possible, developers just need to convince
MS its worth it.

Also as far as cross platform play goes, MS doesnt want to allow others onto their servers, and I agree. Personally if I want to play a game with a buddy on PS, Ill go and buy a playstation. Not to mention you wouldnt even be able to party chat considering
the audio codecs are different and all.

-It happens all the time, with things not only in gaming. People love or hate the ideas of things that they often never take advantage or even have any vested interest in. Think about the amount of people that had a fit over Sony removing the Linux OS
drive space and then consider how many people actually used that.

-You can only convince someone of something if they care to listen to your needs and historically Microsoft have not been known to be very flexible in their rules.

-I own both systems already and that's a pretty weak solution to a far less complicated problem. Microsoft uses Skype and people on PlayStation have been requesting Skype for a while over there. Apparently it is available on the Vita. Since both machines
are essentially PC's this really isn't a difficult thing to implement.

'm pretty sure that in your entire game playing lifetime, each one of you have come across at least one button that you didn't like where it was mapped. How can you say you are against being able to fix that? Why would you care to not allow someone else
the freedom to change the button of their controller? Does everyone who plays on your Xbox have to choose the exact button configuration you do even though the Developer has given half a dozen choices? "No! everyone must play inverted"

The only update that I want for the Xbox One controller is a "Master Switch" in the console set-up to completely turn off all controller vibrations (like the way that the Xbox 360 can).

I would also like to point out that this feature would help to reduce the existing growth of controller hackng. Much like it was a small step from modding your console to play imports games and homebrew to just downloading illegally copied games, it's
also a small step from modding your controller for a couple button enhancements to cheating in a an official match. People take liberties with things when there is no barriers to keep them in check.

Having this kind of feature on the console allows Microsoft and Devs the ability to decide where and when it is appropriate. Simple button mapping should be an anywhere anytime feature but things like rapid fire or macros would likely be disabled in competitive
sessions.

 

Ha, I forgot I wrote this. Turns out somebody was listening, I just wish they had done it right. In it's current state this feature is almost unusable.

The correct way to have this set up is so that you can access it from a premium spot on the quick menu, and when you do customize your buttons they are saved as unique profiles for that specific game. The other thing is that when in the menu system the
buttons should revert to their original button layout as to not cause a bunch of button confusion. As a bonus feature you could always allow a system button profile as well as a game master profile.

I still think single player macros should be a thing and with them I feel like button profile sharing should also be a thing
