Please help.

I was targeted and harassed today by an individual on Xbox Live. I was told to post it on the Forums when I contacted the support service for Xbox, but also understand there are issues about posting other player's gamer tags.

Please email me at the Live.com address that is Linked to my account. The Support Person I spoke to through chat said to leave all the messages that were sent to me in my inbox, and I will for evidence purposes. I would appreciate any help in this matter.

I have just set up my xbox one and the sound doesn't sound right. I have it on a 5.1 dolby system it's really odd on call of duty advanced warfare the centre speaker works during cinematic scenes but has no volume during game play it sounds ok and the gun and voice effects come mainly from the front two speakers but that can't be right????

Has anyone else got call of duty set up on 5.1 dolby system?

i dont have cod..

first i would go into settings and controller and update it.. (idk why) but somewhere along the line an update for headsets had something with dolby 5.1 in it.

i dont have cod so i cant say how my 5.1 sound bar works but the way i recall it is.. the developer sets the standard or output channels.. this is why forza worked next to polk audio to "dial in sound" its not really a microsoft thing as much as cod development.

i would check settings on xb1 to see if it is in dolby 5.1 or stereo
i would also check the settings in game to seewhat they are.

depending on your sound bar check and see i fit has a setting for analog or coax it may also have different modes.. game,movie,stereo,cinamatic each one does alter how sound is projected

 

sorry the ONLY thing that can be done is report the users harassing you then block communications so they cannot do that anymore.

 

I did try to block this particular user, however my Xbox is not letting me. I can sit there and press A over and over again, but he was still sending messages.

I had a problem with a friend of this person earlier, being singled out and targeted online. I reviewed and avoided that player, and it was after that that this friend of his began harassing me. I was able to block and avoid the first player, but it is
not letting me do it for the second.

I posted this here on the forum because of Talking to a Microsoft support operator who advised me to. Thank you for the reply though.

 

The ONLY way to report someone is via your console,it can't be done on the forums or anywhere else.

Whoever you spoke to has given you the wrong info.

As said in previous comments, the only way to report a gamertag for such inappropriate behaviour is by using the console's built-in reporting tools. Make sure that you report them for the appropriate form of disruption and then also proceed to block the
person. If you are having trouble blocking the person, I suggest you try Power-Cycling your console and then trying again. If the issue still persists - please update us on this thread. (Make sure that you are completely blocking the communications from this
person, not just setting them as an avoided player).

It appears that whoever you spoke to in Support has given you the wrong recommendation. You are right in believing there are strict rules around posting content of that nature in the forums and there is nothing that anyone in the forums can do for you anyway,
the only thing that can be done is by reporting them on the console it's self.

Once you've reported them, you should be able to delete the messages on your account, as the Xbox Live Policy & Enforcement team will still be able to review them through the console report that you submit. This will also mean that you can avoid having to
look at the messages further, which may avoid further discomfort for you.
