Please help!!

So i got my day one edition xbox one at launch and have been have connection problems with it from the start. It was connected in my living room where my computer and modem are set up but even with the short distance it still had trouble connecting with
the dchp or something along those lines, A problem i never had with my 5-6 year old 360 with a wireless adapter. I have moved both consoles into my room and the 360 still connected fine and even the xbox one had no problems connecting (i was surprised because
it was further away from the modem than before) but just today it came up with the same error a before. I know this question has been asked on here before but i just wanted to know if its my modem or console? because my 360 is having no such problem and i
dont want to spend $150 on a new modem (Australia).

I have just set up my xbox one and the sound doesn't sound right. I have it on a 5.1 dolby system it's really odd on call of duty advanced warfare the centre speaker works during cinematic scenes but has no volume during game play it sounds ok and the gun and voice effects come mainly from the front two speakers but that can't be right????

Has anyone else got call of duty set up on 5.1 dolby system?

i dont have cod..

first i would go into settings and controller and update it.. (idk why) but somewhere along the line an update for headsets had something with dolby 5.1 in it.

i dont have cod so i cant say how my 5.1 sound bar works but the way i recall it is.. the developer sets the standard or output channels.. this is why forza worked next to polk audio to "dial in sound" its not really a microsoft thing as much as cod development.

i would check settings on xb1 to see if it is in dolby 5.1 or stereo
i would also check the settings in game to seewhat they are.

depending on your sound bar check and see i fit has a setting for analog or coax it may also have different modes.. game,movie,stereo,cinamatic each one does alter how sound is projected

 

Well what I would try is turning off everything and resetting your modem if you have a router un plug it as well by resetting it I mean just unplug it for three minutes after you have everything plugged back in turn on your consoles and see if there is any
difference

 

if you are using wireless try to hard wire it as well and see there are any issues there may be other issues if you still have trouble I would recommend calling Xbox and speak with the connectivity department

 

Thanks for replying iam in class right now. I have been doing that from the start every time i want to use my xbox one but it happens everytime i turn it off and i have to go through it all over again and its not a fix for me.

 

Just to be clear from my pervious post

i go through the "reset modem and console" everytime i want to use my xbox one, once i turn it off and turn it on again after awhile it comes up with the dhcp error again. And i dont want to do that everytime i want to use the console.

 

Forgot to mention my modem/router is a netgear n150

 

But have you tried hard-wiring it, yet?

 

By hard wiring you mean using a Ethernet cable straight to the xbox? if so i cant do that anymore because the xbox is in my room and the computer is in the living room, but the moment i got it home from the midnight launch, the dhcp came up and i could not
use it so i used my Ethernet and got the update as my xbox used to be in the living room.

 

Anyone have an explanation for this?

As i said before i have followed the steps on the troubleshooting page under "cannot connect to your DHCP server" but then that only fixes the problem until i turn it off, have to keep doing it if i want to use the console when i turn it on again. Shouldn't
those steps be a permanent fix?
