Please help, xbox game bar/xbox app on PC constantly crashing

Sorry to hear you are having trouble with your Game Bar. Before you begin troubleshooting any of the following problems, first verify that you have the latest version of Windows and that all Windows updates are complete: How to get software and driver updates for Windows devices

Uninstall / Reinstall the app and make sure you are on the latest version.

Make sure you do not have other programs like

• Anti-virus
  
• Firewall
  
• PC Optimizers
  

Blocking the program from running properly

We encourage you to report the issue using the Xbox app.

Submitting a bug through the Xbox App:

1. Navigate to the top right of the application and select your gamerpic icon
   
2. Select “Feedback” in the drop-down menu
   
3. Select “Report a problem”
   
4. Click Give new feedback
   
5. Add [Xbox Forum] in the “Summarize your feedback” followed by a feedback summary along with your [ForumName] (Ex. [NFREWIHifubiebf]
   
6. Category should automatically be selected.
   
7. Once complete, post the title of the bug report along with the submission date in this thread

Do you have the Xbox app and Xbox companion app installed on your PC? Please install both and try to log in with your account on them.

Then open the game bar and see if your account is logged into the app

Please repair or reset the Xbox App. Since the crash occurs in the Xbox app, start by repairing or resetting it by going to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps.

Locate the Xbox App, click Advanced Options, and choose: Repair. This won’t delete your data. If the issue persists, choose Reset.

And then reinstall Gaming Services. To do this, open PowerShell as Administrator.

Run the following commands:

get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers

start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

Reinstall Gaming Services and restart your PC.

Next is to update Windows. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update. Install all available updates, including optional updates.

Then repair System Files because a corrupted system files like combase.dll may be causing crashes. Please open Command Prompt as Administrator.

Run the following commands one at a time:

System File Checker:

sfc /scannow

DISM Tool:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Restart your PC after the scans are complete.

After that is to disable overlays from apps like NVIDIA GeForce Experience or Xbox Game Bar can conflict with games. To do this, open NVIDIA GeForce Experience, go to Settings > General, and disable In-Game Overlay.

Disable the Xbox Game Bar by going to Settings > Gaming > Xbox Game Bar and toggling it off.

Kindly uninstall the Xbox app from Settings > Apps. Open the Microsoft Store and reinstall the Xbox app.

Since Oblivion and other games are affected, please uninstall one of the problematic games and then reinstall it via the Xbox app and test if the issue persists.

Please try to reset the game bar app on your PC.

Click Start and click Settings; Select Apps & features. Find the Xbox game bar app and click Advanced options. Click Reset then also click repair.

Once done, restart your PC and try again.

But there are times that it will take long to upload the captures due to server delays but they should not be doing that all the time.
