Please help. Saved files folder not being recognized.

I was using my flash drive(32gb) as the main drive for my xbox 360 save files, as well as, GTA V setup. Now, I had to use this drive for something else and it was urgent. Therefore, I attached it to my laptop, found the hidden Xbox360 folder, unhid it, and
copied it to my external hdd. Thereafter, I formatted the flash drive, used it and then when I tried to copy the same Xbox360 folder back onto it, it said you need 256kb additional space to copy the contents. Alright no problem. I had a spare external hdd(250gb).
I formatted that and copied the folder onto that, attached it to my 360 and booted that up. It does not recognize the hdd or the contents on it. It asks me if I want to configure it. Now this is where its getting shaky and I am slowly getting an eye twitch:

1. If I confgure it, like 360 asks me to, it formats the hdd, removes the folder that I had copied onto it and allocates 31gb of space(which is blank).
   
2. This 31gb of allocated space is actually the Xbox360 hidden folder. If I unhide it and replace the contents of the folder and then access it through my 360, I am at the same spot in regard to the 360 refusing the accept the replaced contents as saved files/gta
   v setup, etc.
   

Pardon me if I have been too verbose. What I want to know is how do I get that copied Xbox360 folder (and its contents) to be recognized by 360, how they used to earlier? The folder is almost 30gb in size.

All my save files/achievements are in that folder. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Gears of war 3 beta unlocks?

Make sure the "beta saved game" file is "In the same folder as "gears of war 3" saved game...In other words, open the Gow3 beta, go to saved game and move it to the gow3 saved game file...that should do it...
