PLEASE HELP REGARDING MY NEW XBOX 360 PURCHASE (CONSOLE BLOCKED TO LIVE)

Hello,

i have recently purchased a second hand xbox 360 slim, the xbox has never been modded or adjusted according to the seller and i myself have not dreamed of doing so, can you please tell me why when i wiped the hard drive from the previous user, i cannot connect
to xbox live due to it being 'banned' ?

all i wanted to do was upgrade my old xbox 360 elite for a nicer model with kinnect. i have been a xbox 360 live user for years and purchase items through the store. this is very frustrating for me as i feel conned, the xbox connects to the internet but
not the live service, therefor i cannot download my profile or use any of the services.I just want to get back playing games with my friends.

please help! i would very much appreciate a speedy reply.

Xbox 360 Issue HELP!

The other day, I was on my Xbox 360 and tried downloading the WWE Network app when my console froze. I restarted the system and logged back into my Xbox Live account and now every time I do log back in, my system freezes on the dashboard. It only does this when I log into my Xbox Live account. If I skip login, I do not have any issues.

Could someone help me please?!

IMO - best thing you could do is take the console back to the seller and get your money back. That's if you bought it locally. If you bought it via Amazon, or Play etc, using PayPal, you should be covered and you'll get your money back.

I don't think Microsoft will reverse a unit's banned status, if that's what you're hoping? It'd be too easy for people who've had their console banned to conjure a story, not unlike your own, and get their banned Xbox functioning again -- that would negate
the point and effective threat of the ban, eh? {XD

Never ever ever ever EVER buy an Xbox console used. (Unless you really know the person you are buying it from and/or they can prove to you that the console isn't banned prior to purchase.)

 

The seller scammed you.

He probably sold it because it was banned.

Like the person above said Never buy a console used especially if you don't know the person you are buying off.

Once a console is banned it is permanent.

I hope you manage to get your money back.

 

also a console does not need to be modded to be banned, it can be banned for the user having to many warnings or temp bans, or account theft or store theft. like others have said, if you plan on buying a used console then do so from a reputable company
that provides a full warranty

 

This is why I never buy second hand used Console.

Being banned has NOTHING to do with the HDD. That's why it's called a console ban.

Chalk this up to a life lesson.... Buying used can be a GREAT money saver...... Buying from an honest dealer can make a big difference.

Please, DO NOT try and resell it...... Scrap it for metal.......
