    To Whom It May Concern (I hope this will concern someone):

    My name is Brian, and I've been a consumer of Microsoft's innovative products since I sat on my father's lap and learned DOS with Windows 3.1. I'm 24 and a law student.

    I've stuck with Microsoft--in sickness (think Windows ME, the blue screens of death, and two xbox 360s failing) and in health--but I'm beginning to contemplate a divorce.

    In November, I purchased the Xbox One: Day One Edition. It suffered from a grinding disc drive issue (widely reported in the first edition). I utilized the Advanced Exchange Program on February 10, 2014.

    Microsoft sent me a replacement Xbox One, BUT the replacement was also non-functional (DOA). So, Xbox Support asked that I return the original and once the original was received, then Microsoft would work with me to replace the non-functional replacement.
    Microsoft received my original console.

    I've been trying for almost three weeks to get a replacement sent for replacement #1. Xbox Support "escalated" my case and said that the Advocacy Team would contact me in 48 hours. I waited 48 hours. Nothing. I contacted support again and was told that a
    high systemic level of support requests necessitated me waiting for at least 96 hours. Support said I would get a response no later than March 2. I waited until March 3. Nothing.

    Tonight, I contacted support. I was told that I should have heard from someone by now and that they would "re-escalate" my case. Again, I was instructed to expect a possible 96 hour wait.

    I paid over $500 to continue my relationship with Microsoft; however, I didn't realize it was going to be a relationship filled with ineffective troubleshooting and disregard for the customer.

    Please help remedy this situation.

    bought 3 phones from ebay so far, 1 was dead on arrival and they sent a replacement out next day and took the faulty one back, so i'd not have a problem buying from there.

    Does anyone have contact info for the people above the advocacy team? I'd wish to escalate this even further. Taking $533 out of someone's bank account due to negligence of a company employee is low. I just want my money back and also money for your broken

    Xbox one Advanced replacement Dead on Arrival

    I've been through 2 advanced exchanges because my original console was making a noticeable humming sound. On both occasions I was sent a refurbished console which STILL had a more serious fault than my original (one wouldn't stay powered on and one had a
    broken fan).

    Each time, I got in touch with support to tell them I would be returning the replacement console instead of my original, I tracked the returns and they both were received within 5 days of me initially receiving the replacements.

    For the first advanced exchange, I got an automated email telling me I was going to be charged. For the second advanced exchange, an advocacy support agent emailed me 3 whole weeks after the return was received, telling me I had not sent it back.

    The advanced exchange system falls apart when you send back the return console, it's like they don't have a system in place to deal with it. That and the whole case escalation thing is appalling too, it can take over 2 weeks to get a response even though
    they will tell you it will only take 72 hours.

    Anyone with a hardware failure I strongly suggest going to your retailer first to try and get them to do an exchange. That's what I did. I've only got negative things to say about my experience with advanced exchanges.

    After a tech support chat session with Microsoft I returned the device and requested a replacement. The replacement is now working fine. It appears that my first device was dead on arrival. That is disappointing for a brand new device that arrived in sealed
    box. So bottom line, if yours isn't working, try another controller, and if that doesn't fix the issue request a replacement.

    I spoke with some helpful Microsoft support folks on Tuesday afternoon, and they updated me on my status. They were sorry for the delay but said that my replacement console should ship out in 1 to 2 business days. Today (Wednesday afternoon), I received
    an email with a tracking number that said my replacement console should arrive within a few days. Hope the rest of you get a shipment soon. My XBOX One has been dead since November 23rd, so I'm looking forward to the replacement and hope there aren't any
    issues.

    Very Disappointed w Xbox

    Similar issues, my disk drive gave up the ghost. The replacement xbox one arrived (under the advance exchange program), it arrived with an inoperable disk drive! Microsoft would not despatch a replacement Xbox one until my original was recieved by them.
    Then, and only then, would they release a further xbox to replace their broken one and they will hold a charge against my credit card until their faulty console is with them!

    So, when it eventually arrives, this will be my third Xbox One. Only one less than the 360's that needed repairing.

    When it works the One is great but I am very dubious of the longevity of its components.
