Please help me :(

I could not connect to in game matches and some Xbox live feature so I asked live chat support, they sent me a email telling me to follow these steps. Not once did they said in these steps that I'd have to re-sign in with my account information. In the
process I was told to delete my profile and download it. Then I was prompted for my hotmail/outlook account and password. I made the email over 7 years ago for Xbox live. And I do not remember it. I have tried to ask outlook and fill out the survey but apparently
there wasn't enough information. If I could somehow get the username back I'll be able to recover my password so I can re-download my account and hopefully fix my original problem. Has anyone got any ideas or suggestions? Thanks

For security reasons agents cannot tell you your e-mail address without verifying your account. Did you set up a payment method or a Secret Answer? If you did, my best advice would be to give them a call on the phone depending on where you are from:

For united States:

1-800-4MY-XBOX

International (direct dial to U.S.): 425-635-7180

For United Kiingdom:

0800 587 1102

Ask them to pullup your account with your gamertag you provide to them. They'll possibly find ways of verifying your account through payment method/Security Answer if you do not have an alternative method setup to receive verification codes.

Unfortunately the form you filled in to get it back that way you have had to enter in the correct e-mail address and should only really say there wasn't enough information to prove you having ownership on that account.

At this point I'd like to mention that Microsoft take security of their customers very seriously and if they cannot verify you, there is not much that could be done at this point and they would advise you to make another account. With no options for recovering,
and not enough information entered you should consider that possibility. If Microsoft just gave password resets to anyone on any e-mail address with providing not enough evidence or incorrect information then everyone would be having anyones e-mail address
even if this E-Mail address you are claiming is your own. While as inconvenient as it may be, it is just to protect their customers rather than not to irrirate their customers.

There is nothing further I can add to this, so let me know how you get on.
