PLEASE HELP ME! Strange no sound issue.

Xbox360 friends!! I need help!!

So I should start by saying I have the older xbox360. The original RE edition.

Im using component cables that came with the system. No HD set ups. Very straightforward.

My Xbox was fine today. Then I plugged in my headset to play online. I have a set of turtlebeach headphones that connect into the controller, via USB on the xbox and with the red and white cables in the back of the tv where the xbox cables piggy back
onto.

All was good. When I removed the headset completely and plugged the red and white back into the tv I have no sound out of my tv.

I have tried EVERYTHING. Made sure the voice preferences are speakers. Unplugged all cords and plugged back in. Changed the ports for the cables. Made sure my tv wasn't muted. I can't get sound back. I do not have display discovery bc my xbox is older.
If I plug the headset back in sound works through it so it can't be the cables. Any ideas?

I suggest you to check this link and locate the reason of the problem you are experiencing:

After locating the real issue its easy to find a solution.

I think the only thing you don't mention trying is plugging something else into the TV red/white ports and seeing if the ports are still working? If the TV is old they might have popped?

I realise we are scraping the bottom of the barrel here....

Sounds pretty awesome, except I have this strange dislike for handheld systems. Hope this can help me think different.

It is indeed very strange that when you have the game installed it creates the lag but when uninstalled, it does not lag. Very strange indeed. I figured clearing the cache would help for sure and it sounds like it helped a lot. Glad they were able to resolve
the issue for you.

Even if this sounds strange, please try if a factory reset resolves your issue. We had this problem often here in the forums lately and usually it could be fixed with a factory reset.
