How did your friend purchase the membership? If it was from the console the gold should have been added immediately.

he has gone offline because he cant be bothered with the free gold i will talk to him tomorow when he comes back online

Have him check his billing history here. It shows anything that you were charged for (subscriptions, points, etc). If its not coming up there then that means the purchase didn't
go through.

If he believes it did, have him contact phone support directly.

If your suspension is up and you still cannot get online try removing the account from the console, doing a hard reset, and then re-adding
the account.
