Please help! Long set up time, customization questions.

I just bought an Xbox One for my birthday. Hooray! It came with a lot of games and the shipping was expedient. The packing was top notch and the console is beautiful!

Please don't take this post the negative way, I just need some help concerning a few issues that have come up.

1. Setting it up (patching etc) took over two hours. My internet speed is very fast 10 Megabyte download. [checked to make sure during the patching because it was so slow progress]. Is this normal for consoles today?

2. How do I completely get rid of the movies and music tabs advertising all over my dashboard? I'm not interested in Beounce or what's showing on Showtime. I just want to play games!

3.My first game that I wanted to play was Halo 5. I popped the disk in and it prompted for install. That took approximately another two hours of install time before it would allow me to play. Are all Xbox One games like this?

4. I have this annoying xbox advertisement that randomly plays, repeatedly advertising what the xbox can do. How do I disable random videos from playing on my dashboard?

5. Is there any way to customize dashboard squares more freely? I see a bunch of things I would like to get rid of and have a CLEAN interface to play in. All I see when reading the options are close and not able to remove. If not, is it possible to make
a tab so I can move all this CLUTTER off my main tab?

I may sound like I'm nitpicking but I really like a clean interface like the original Xbox, and 360 when it came out (last time I played games) now it's just...too busy for me. Any help appreciated regarding my issues. I really don't want to return this
lovely console.

I just got a headset. The sound is great. But I can't hear other's voice in my headset. Do I need the adapter. How do I adjust the volumes for best experience

Hi there that wouldnt be a great idea the console needs to be in a well ventilated area to avoid overheating. As well as it needs to remain horizontal.

I'd say if your internet is only 10Mb then two hours is probably accurate for the very large patches (they don't happen too often).

You cannot get rid of the advertisements on the right of the main home screen. That said, the first page and the games tab are going to be your one stop shops if you only are concerned with games. I would suggest pinning you most commonly used games
and apps in the bottom by pressing menu on the game tile, and selecting pin.

Large games (especially ones that have been out a while) will have large updates. You're effectively downloading 50GB of data, and with 10Mb internet it can take quite a while. That said with games you can usually reach a spot where you can launch
it and use some features while it installs. I personally play something else, or watch TV while this is happening.

You can't disable the ad. However it should only play if you select it, otherwise it will be silent.

You can pin and unpin apps / games in the bottom of your home screen. To unpin press menu on the button and then select unpin. To pin something else, go to the main tile in games and apps, press menu, and select pin. to move tiles hold "y" while
on the tile and move it where you want.

The next update that comes out will make it easier to get to your games and apps, sort your games and apps while in the section, and make the store a bit more clean so you don't have to scroll over multiple tabs. That said it's still very much like
the current UI. It takes some getting used to, but I'm a fan of the new UI and usually only hit down a couple times to get to the exact game / app I want to play.
