Please help! Can't remove payments, use a promotional code or my credit card to sign up ...

I signed in to my Xbox One today and was told that I no longer have gold. I was a little annoyed but I did just get my One back from having a disc reading issue fixed so I figured it might be something relating to that. When they sent my One back they sent
me a one month subscription of Gold for free so I decided this was the perfect time to use it. I enter the promotional code and get this message:

Something went wrong

Give it another try. If this happens again, let us know by entering the code below at xbox.xom/errorhelp so we can investigate.

But there was no code to enter. So I tried it 3 more times and kept getting the same message with no error code to enter. I even tried redeeming the code online to no avail. So I decided to just use my credit card. But ran into problems once again. I received
this message:

This payment option is being used on as many accounts as it's allowed to be. Remove it from those accounts and try again, or add a different payment option.

Not knowing what this meant, I figured it might have something to do with my Xbox 360 which I still have. So I sign into that and remove all payment options from it. I try again on the Xbox One and get the same message as before. So I go to my xbox.com profile
to remove the payment options from there but trouble seems to be following me everywhere I go and I get this message:

Uh-oh...That shouldn't have happened

It appears you have found a glitch in the system

But there is no help code or any explanation as to what this means.

I'm getting really frustrated. Has this happened to anyone else and what can I do to fix this? All I want is to get gold so I can watch Netflix...

How to Manage your Xbox LIVE payment options

Overview

You can choose to use more than one payment method for your Xbox LIVE account. The payment options include credit cards and PayPal accounts. You can use these payment options to buy items from Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

The 2-year Xbox LIVE Gold Contract uses only credit cards as the payment option. The other payment options like Debit Cards, Prepaid cards and PayPal are not valid for this subscription. However, you can change your payment to another credit card.

If it is before the end of the two years and there is no credit card associated with your account, it is assumed you have terminated the subscription, and you will be charged an Early Termination Fee and any applicable taxes.

Steps to Follow

Add or change a payment option using your console

1) Use your Xbox LIVE gamertag to Sign in.

2) Proceed to Settings and then select Account.

3) Select Manage Payment Options, and then choose either of the following:

• If you want to add a new credit card, select Add Credit Card.
• If you want to use your PayPal account on Xbox LIVE, select Add PayPal. You will be required to enter your PayPal username and password. Follow the instructions to add PayPal as a payment option. You cannot use PayPal as a payment option for the 2 year Xbox LIVE Gold Contract. PayPal is not available in all regions.

4) After making changes to payment options, select Update Payment Option.

Add or Change a payment option on Xbox.com

1) Go to My Account.

2) Select Payments and Billings and click on Manage Payment Options.

3) You may be required to Sign in using your Microsoft account (email and password).

4) Proceed to do either of the following:

If you want to edit a payment option, select Edit.

If you want to add a payment option, you can do either of the following:

• Click on Add New Credit Card and enter the credit card information
• Click on PAY with PayPal and follow the instructions.

Have you tried to hard reset your Xbox One? Hold the power button for 10 seconds. This clears your consoles cache.

Have you tried to remove you current profile and re download it on box One??

These free memberships are meant for people that do not already have a gold membership. It's. Promotional thing. You should just contact support. They are very helpful and will fix this for you. I usually use the chat option to contact support.
