Please help. Cannot share gold account on home xbox with child account.

Whatever console the account with the gold subscription is set as its home console should be able to share that subscription with any other profile on the console.

Another thing you want to make sure is that your son does have the subscription is active.

You can check this by signing into his account at account.microsoft.com/services or by signing into his account on the console and going to settings and under account tab go to subscriptions.

My xbox gold account's home xbox is the model S. This lets my Son play the games I have purchased.

I use the model X signed in as my gold account. This is my Son's home xbox.

My son uses the model S signed in as his gold account, this is MY home xbox

My daughter tries to sign into the model X (my son's home xbox who has a valid gold account) and it says she needs gold to play online or join a party etc. She should have access to gold because this is my son's home xbox who has an active gold subscription.

Hello, Sorry to hear you are having this issue.

Have you made sure that your Son's profile with the Xbox Live Gold account is set as Home on the console? To do this, sign into the account you want to set as Home on the console and do the following steps:

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
2. Select System > Settings > Personalization, and then select
   My home Xbox.
3. Do either of the following:
   • Select Make this my home Xbox to designate the console as your home Xbox.
     
   • Select Remove this as my home Xbox to remove the designation.

I also noticed you said you have 2 consoles. Also make sure that you are not setting the same profile as Home on a separate console, you can only use a single profile on one console as Home. If his profile is set to home on the Xbox One X then later set
as Home on the Xbox One S, the Xbox One X will no longer have game sharing with that profile.

Something else to note is that you can only change which console is your Home 5 times in a one year period. If you have changed your Home more than 5 times this calendar year, you will not be able to do so again until the next year.

Thanks for reaching out to us today. I'm sorry to hear about the current issues with the sharing benefits of the Home Xbox feature. As you mentioned above your daughter should be able to receive the gold subscription if she's signing in the Xbox One X (The
Home console). Since you mentioned to have already modified both account settings and you're still unable to get the gold showing on her account. I suggest for you to remove both profiles (if you haven't already) from the Xbox. First you'll add back your son's
account on the Xbox and verify it shows on the settings that it's the 'Home Xbox'

Afterwards, add your daughters account back on the Xbox, go to the settings once she's signed on and make sure it doesn't say home Xbox. I've experienced where another account became the home Xbox and caused issues that's why I'm just having you double check
that after re-adding both account
