Please go back to the old YouTube app!

First off, the app is really slow at recognizing my controller movements. I can live with that.

Secondly, the app is very unintuitive. The previous app was nicely organized, so that you could find what you wanted to find easily. This is just a jumbled up mess of whatever YoutTube decides you should watch. I could live with that also.

What I can't live with on the app are the ads. Ads are necessary, I understand. But anytime an ad plays or you go to change the video playing, the app freezes up. The only thing you can do is exit the app and reenter. And ads play so much more than they
used to. Once halfway during a video, one before, and one after the video, then freeze up. Let me go back to the old one please. This app is completely broken.

Youtube app fix

Ok so I just spent an hour with chat support and they were unable to resolve this issue. Well I managed to resolve it myself so perhaps this will help someone else out. If your youtube app is not functioning on xbox 360 live and you're getting that generic
"Sorry, youtube isn't available right now. please try again later....." Ok this is how I fixed it. Don't just go to the youtube app and click on delete. Manually go into your system settings, memory and manually delete all versions of the youtube app....I
had 6 on my HD. I deleted all 6, turned off my console, powered back up, signed back into xbox live and then redownloaded the youtube app. Problem solved, hope this helps somebody.

I'm with you on this 100 percent because I hate the new app as much as you do.

Dude, 100000000000% agree with you there. The only part of this update I like is how easy it is to view my subscriptions and subscribe to new ones straight from the xbox. Otherwise I hate everything!

besides the obvious copious amounts of adds now that make almost a every video impossible to watch, it frustrates me more that I can't bare support the awesome youtubers like I used to with how many f***ing adds there are. i know adds will never go away
unfortunately but seriously this is just too much. plus the playlist section is not only crap but completely broken. If I get 10 episodes into the series and then my app (eventually and as expected) freezes, I gotta go through a whole bunch of b*****it to
get back to whee I was and most of the time I don't even bother because it doesn't load. what was wrong with the old one? Absolutely nothing. why can't I just reset my update and go back to the old one.

Well, I haven't had the buffering issue, not with YouTube at least, but I loathe the "new and improved" look and "functionality". It's garbage. Change for the sake of change with no real improvement or functionality. It's harder to navigate, the "recent"
uploads seem to be all months or years old, and it doesn't even fit the screen properly.

If it doesn't get fixed or changed back I guess I get to free up some hard drive space by deleting the now useless YouTube app on Xbox and go back to fully functional YouTube on the laptop where I get the added content of comments and the rest that Xbox
never saw a way to work into the app.

Thanks for posting and being super detailed! I'm sorry to hear about the YouTube app seeming to disappear. I would suggest trying out these steps below to see if we can get you using the YouTube app again.

On the dashboard, navigate to the Apps Tab at the top.
Go to Browse Apps.
Then navigate to the Video Tab and go to See all.
Navigate to the YouTube app and try to download it.

If you try the steps above and they don't do the trick for you, please post back and let us know! Thanks so much!

Youtube update is terrible i have a list of problems but cant find anything good i hope they go back to old version
