Please fix/support surround sound via s/pdif

I'm using the third or last connection option here

Connect Xbox One to Your Home Theater or Sound System

Whats frustrating is is while using the xbox one stereo headset adapter I get sound but using the aux and/or s/pdif cables I'm missing sounds.

While playing Madden25 there is no commentator coming through my speakers so the center, back r and back l channels aren't producing any sounds.

* My reciever supports Dolby digital and DTS and is a 5.1 theatre reciever but it doesn't support HDMI audio

Can't Watch SD

Currently, the xbox one does not support digital surround sound via HDMI pass through. I believe they are working on a fix for this.

If you need surround sound, you could perhaps use a S/PDIF digital optical cable from the xbox to your surround capable receiver

Problems with Onkyo TX-NR818 Receiver

Try S/PDIF just for a test. I am just plain a huge fan of S/PDIF for all kinds of reasons. HDMI surround sound is in beta right now.

I'm running the s/pdif from the xbox one to my reciever.

I've also tried running an aux cable from my TV to my reciever.

Connect an optical cable directly from Xbox One to your receiver and set the Xbox One audio settings to output Dolby Digital bitstream over optical.

Why it says "beta" is HDMI is not a supported pass-through feature at the moment. That does not mean that surround sound does not work. It means that it works via another method (in this case: S/SPDIF). Optical cable works great and it was the reason why
it was created originally! S/PDIF is the perfect audio transfer method to avoid additional HDMI hops.
