Please explain Gold...

Just purchased Gold and now I'm wondering how it actually works...

Is the gold only for my profile or the consol... will it work if I sign in using a different profile on my 360.

Can I use my profile on my grandkids system?

Gold is tied to your account. If you're using the 360, only your account would be able to access gold. If you're using a One, you can share your game via the Home setting. You can sign in and use your profile on any console.

Thanks for your post. When you purchase Xbox Live Gold, your account is then enabled to access Xbox Live Gold features such as multiplayer and games with gold. In order to use these features, you must be signed in to the profile with the subscription on
your console and as long as your account is signed in, any profile can use online features at the same time.

http://commerce.microsoft.com In order to use the funds, you have to choose your Microsoft account balance as your payment method when you make a purchase (if you're purchasing 360 content it has to be done on the console).
