Please add an option to prevent auto-dimming of screen

As a power-saving feature, Xbox One console dims after 10 minutes of controller inactivity. I want to be able to disable this feature.

I play Jackbox Party Pack games with my friends. The games don't use a controller, they instead use smartphones. The console dims during the game, meaning I have to wiggle the controller every 10 minutes while playing the game.

I was chatting with a support rep for over an hour and we were unable to determine a workaround.

Another thing - Where is the "screen dimming" option or screensaver? Couldn't add that little feature in there I guess.

Screen auto-dimming after 10 minutes

While watching HBO Now, the screen will dim after about 10 minutes. I can't find a setting to turn the auto dimming feature off.

I don't know of a way currently to prevent the screen from dimming. I have read in some posts that a hard reset has worked but I can't confirm or deny that claim. I have my doubts but it may be worth a try. Good Luck!

to my knowledge theres no option to stop screen dimming. if you like you can make the suggestion at xbox.uservoice.com of if someone else already has upvote/comment on their post

yep. you can also post or vote to help your favorite xbox 360 games climb the ranks and be put on the fast track for backwards compatibility. I have no idea why the site isn't more widely promoted.

Internet Expert

If you let the controller sit idle for some time, the game will dim the screen, and the controller will eventually shut off by itself. This is to prevent wear on the TV screen and save controller battery power.

Pushing a button, moving the joystick, or turning the controller back on will bring the screen back to normal.

Also, if your TV has any sort of auto-contrast, auto-brightness, or auto-backlight setting, consider disabling those features.
