@Pyramidhead15 - Through emulation, You see those PS2 classics from PSN? They are all the same emulator using different custom iso's. They did it this way so the consumer would think the PS3 classics are indivdually programmed and required special emulation.
They don't, Same emulator for every ps2 game available.

  2. Just wait until PS Now comes out and see for yourself, there's really no way to say for sure if it's gonna suck or if it'll be good. I don't believe Sony would invest in and plan to charge people for something they don't think they can get to work as advertised.

  3. Well we know that Japan has pretty good internet coverage. But I fear that with both the PSN now and X1's cloud gaming that only those in the bigger cities will be able to take advantage of these services because of internet connections. Not all of America
is connected as it should be with the internet speeds that we should be offered. We are a long ways off from that. That is why I don't think that streaming games will work as well as many think it will. But that's just IMO.

i'm interested in seeing how they handle the latency, but otherwise i don't really care if MS starts their own streaming service, i have little interest in renting or paying a sub.
you already do though, or do u just give MS $60 a year for live for the hell of it
let me restate, i happily pay $60 a year for Live and feel it is worth every cent, i do not feel that paying a sub for a streaming service for old games is worth it at any price, especially since the service won't be worth squat if you don't have a reliable,
    low latency internet service.

so it has nothing to do with me paying for a sub service, but whether i think the service is worth the sub.

The hardware in the PS4 can
handle PS1 and PS2 games if Sony so desired. There are x86 emulators available for both.

I see no problem with HD remakes. Streamed games? I don't see that working out well.
No offense, but I doubt you have any technical know how on how to make it work or not. I don't know the technical specs of the passed systems, but I'm sure they were different architectures, yet PS2 played PS1 games....and the PS3 played PS2 games.

    .

The consoles just came out so, honestly, the only reason why anyone would out right say it will never work is just to downplay this whole thing.

    .

Again...Onlive and Playstation Now are not the same. It's like any other tech....theres different drivers, firmware, and programming....so to say Onlive didn't work so PSNow won't....it's just being negative to make PSNow seem bad.

    .

in all fairness gaikai didn't work that great either on any game newer then PS2/xbox and that is the company Sony purchased.

now imagine GTA which has issues running on a 360/PS3 trying to do this
How long has it been since Gaikai was introduced and is now PSNow. I mean...if I'm thinking correctly, you're acting as if Sony wouldn't improve on the service from when it started.

    .

The point I'm trying to make is that if this was a MS thing....ppl would be all over it with optimism.
MS demo'd it behind closed doors. is it cool? yeah but is it really usefull? for most people probably not. i think people will use it for a few months then cancel and never look back. online and gaikai weren't doing very well, why do you think they were
open to a buyout? Not to mention that people make the "cloud" jokes when the bandwidth needed for it is much less to offload AI then it is to stream an entire game. Also they only have 1 server center and PSN can't even handle online traffic. Sony hired Rackspace
to help them implement it, its not really sony's MO or specialty. The question is will people pay 10 or 20 bucks a month to use a game version of netflix and play games they beat years ago? Probably not
Yet, the whole cloud business regarding the X1 is totally cool dude.

    .

    See what I'm saying?
becuase you don't understand the technology. The MS Azure servers are above and beyond what gaikai had. Sony purchased a company that was struggling for 4000 million and had to implement it, MS built azure from the gorund up spending over 5 billion on server
farms. I use the cloud everytime i play forza, I've used online and gaikai for free trials before and the performance wasn't good enough to make me subscribe, pluus the library back then was much better then it'll be now if they only have PS exclsuives as
most of the bets games are multiplat

I would have agreed with this if I could see any benefit of the Azure servers at the moment, so far no games really utilize the servers, as for the Gaikai 4000 million thing, err can I get some kind of source.

My understanding is Sony bought Gaikai for the tech, and from what I have read from gaming sites such as Destructoid and other gaming journalists, playstation now works, as for it require 5mb download speed, in some areas I can see this being a issue but in
most places I see it as being irrelevant as most ppl have over 5mb that doing gaming online, emphasis on most.

Just saying, non BC compatible ps3's can now play PS2 games (For a while), the emulation is almost perfect on slims and cheaper phats.
Yeah but both companies..MS and Sony can't make money if everyone can keep their games and play them. They make more money if they can resell you what you already have. I purchased Spryo off PSN before the X1 came out. I love that game on the PS1...played
it on the PS3 and wondered why did I just waste my money.
