Now in theory we all should have at least 5Mbps connection; in theory I'm suppose to have it but I usually average barely over 1.5. And that may be the case for many people. The real question is are you talking download or upload. Cause it's a huge
difference. And I don't think the average household gets 1.5 up since most ISP deals neglect upload speeds in the plan... And everyone is chasing deals. Tisk tisk for their gaming experience. Will gamers trash PS when their slow upload speeds hinder their
experience with this service, we will just have to wait and see.

:)

5. MS doesn't need to answer, I'm sure they have their own things in the works. I'm super excited about Playstation Now though, I never had a PS3 so this opens up an entire library of games for me to play that I've never played before.

hopefully nothing. how many more subscription services, pay services can one gamer endure ya know. i have no interest in paying to pay old games that i've already paid for at some point.
Thanks for replying for me. +1.

The hardware in the PS4 can
handle PS1 and PS2 games if Sony so desired. There are x86 emulators available for both.

I see no problem with HD remakes. Streamed games? I don't see that working out well.
No offense, but I doubt you have any technical know how on how to make it work or not. I don't know the technical specs of the passed systems, but I'm sure they were different architectures, yet PS2 played PS1 games....and the PS3 played PS2 games.

.

The consoles just came out so, honestly, the only reason why anyone would out right say it will never work is just to downplay this whole thing.

.

Again...Onlive and Playstation Now are not the same. It's like any other tech....theres different drivers, firmware, and programming....so to say Onlive didn't work so PSNow won't....it's just being negative to make PSNow seem bad.

.

It's like saying I bought a Ford which broke so I'm not buying a Toyota.

in all fairness gaikai didn't work that great either on any game newer then PS2/xbox and that is the company Sony purchased.

now imagine GTA which has issues running on a 360/PS3 trying to do this

MS demo'd it behind closed doors. is it cool? yeah but is it really usefull? for most people probably not. i think people will use it for a few months then cancel and never look back. online and gaikai weren't doing very well, why do you think they were
open to a buyout? Not to mention that people make the "cloud" jokes when the bandwidth needed for it is much less to offload AI then it is to stream an entire game. Also they only have 1 server center and PSN can't even handle online traffic. Sony hired Rackspace
to help them implement it, its not really sony's MO or specialty. The question is will people pay 10 or 20 bucks a month to use a game version of netflix and play games they beat years ago? Probably not
No offense, but I doubt you have any technical know how on how to make it work or not.
Why would I need to? There are operational emulators for both on x86.
They were.
PS2 played PS1 games because the PS1 CPU was the PS1's I/O chip. GS was used for graphics.
Original PS3s contained
entire PS2 chipsets. Later EU models contained the GS and emulated the EE. All that was dropped after a year.
Unless
someone has decided to increase the speed of light, the reasons it won't work out well are the same as they have been for years - network latency. The same reason SlingBox remote control isn't instantaneous is the same reason Gaikai, OnLive, GameTap, and others
are meh.

Increasing bandwidth reduces the latency that realtime encoding of video incurs - less compression, faster encoding. It still doesn't take care of the path from server to client latency. You'd have to live on top of a game server to have low enough latency
to make gaming like this enjoyable.
They are identical in function. They stream control from one end and video from the other.

nVidia and AMD both want to do the same thing. Both have products intended to make remote gaming possible. There is still latency. Getting around the physical distance limitation is not something every location will be able to do, and when it's not necessary
one has to question why.

15. Judging by the early numbers I think there will be a ton of people like me who moved from 360 to PS4 and PS Now is perfect for us. I think it's a very smart move for Sony and I can't wait to play TLOU, I've heard so much about it.
