playstation 2 game disc not reading

It may have a block on it to prevent piracy. We can't assist you with that.

You'll know when your disc drive is messed up. It won't read anything and will make noises. I went through that with my original xbox and playstation 2.

@ Ookami A couple of the articles I read just came out on my service this morning. Specifically the one stating...“Similar to PlayStation 3 today, PlayStation 4 will not have any gating restrictions for used disc-based games. When a gamer buys a PS4 disc,
they have the right to use that copy of the game, so they can trade-in the game at retail, sell it to another person, lend it to a friend, or keep it forever. Furthermore, users will not have to go through activation
steps or be charged usage fees when playing used disc-based games on their PlayStation 4,” says the company on its PS4 forum."

Figured I would post these cause of the misinformation I have been reading, not just here but everywhere.

I have exactly the same problem but not only with Dead Island 2 but also Assassins Creed Mirage!! I put the game disc in I can hear the console trying to read it, and then nothing happens, no Icon on the screen to install the game! I know it's not the console as I have 100+ games all on disc that work fine?? did you get this resolved? as I see this was raised back in April.

I would like to know if both of these games are unplayable as I might as well sell everything and buy a PlayStation 5, with a disc drive that works!?

I have rage and the disc 2 will not read it says unrecognized disc I replaced the game and did the same thing still disc 2 unrecognized
