i as a gamer feel like playstation and xbox are fighting to see who is better and i as a gamer feel like they should fuse the consoles because if xbox and playstation were to come together as a single console players who cant afford one or the other would
be able to play any playstation/xbox game without having to spend to much money to know which is better and by making the console both xbox players and playstation player would be able to enjoy using there personal controllers to say play co-op warfram co-op
dcuo and many more instead of playing solo every round and if both microsoft and sony were to work together the'll get more money then the amount they have now and if they do make a new console or were to upgrade the system throw in some mmorpgs other than
dcuo and imagine how many players would be sending in reviews and imagine how much more money they'll get by making one console and one new company which has both microsoft and sony workers hell throw in ea and bioware workers and the company would be even
bigger than before because of how many people enjoy this gaming industries so if they do fuse the consoles and companies i'll be happy and pretty sure almost everyone else would be too

But really competition brings innovation. Without it technology would not advance as rapidly. While gaming has been around for only slightly longer than I've been on this earth, Thats still a relatively short amount of time, and look how far we've come.
Where would Ford be without Chevy? Or Fridgidaire without Maytag? Do you think we would have the technology we have today without companies like these competing against one another?

 

Competition between Corporations such as Sony and Microsoft is a good thing.

Fuse the two together and what consumers will get in return is the shaft!

 

The above post is exactly what I was going to say. It's quite basic business actually.

Strong competition between competing companies means each competitor involved needs to work harder to create a better product than their rival's in order to earn our money. Strong competition = Better products. Better products = Happier gamers (Which in
this case is us)

Both currently available consoles almost match one another in power, performance and capabilities. Aside from being able to play exclusive titles from both consoles, there's really not much to expect from some sort of merged, all-in-one, mega console. That's
not even to mention how expensive such a system would be.

Simply put, the idea just wouldn't work. It may not seem like it but with healthy competition in the market, which in our case would be gaming, just means us gamers receive higher quality games and other products in that category. Plus, it's always nice
as a consumer to have a few diverse options and choices available.

That would be like fusing the Chevy Camaro and the Dodge Challenger, never going to happen and would never want it to happen.

 

If we didn't have competition, we probably wouldn't have had the PS4 or Xbox One, or many other consoles. Competition can make or break a company.

 

SONY and Microsoft are such rivals that they wouldn't even share a flyer together if they had to both put towards it.

Only way it would happen is if one of them truly went beyond bust and the other bought them out.

Joint stuff never works out anyway, simply because one declares dominance over the other. All they end up with is the brand name and everything else goes.

 

Nintendo, by a small probability could see a new found vitality in the marketplace under such a scenario. they've been exsanguinated for years now under the dominance of the horsepower and better 3rd party support of microsoft and sony. Personally, I'm really
surprised theyve carried on after the gamecube. that was truthfully my 1st choice pick upon release and id been a nintendo fan my whole life. Despite some great games, I had to change course. They made fatal mistake after fatal mistake. They showed huge reluctance
to produce games in-house that were rated even T for teen. same with 3rd party. apparently, they found a market in the 12 and under demographic. Also, n64 should've been disc. gamecube shouldve had something resembling internet multiplayer. list goes on.

I'd like to see them finally get it together and kick sony out.

Wouldnt you rather have 2 vastly diff systems competing vs 2 very similar ones?

Point is...yes, there is competition...but they aren't teaching each other. they are playing it too safe, risks would be well-worth.

Literally 7/8 games i own are shooters so far. whats going on here?
