Playlist punishment?

I was curious as to why a game maker would take away options for players? Before the Taken King players had access to more game types in crucible and others, I believe. Now for some reason the players who don't want to throw another 40 bucks into a game
are losing the ability/right to play game types that they had originally had access too. Can someone explain why a game would "punish" customers by giving them less than what the game originally came with. Seem like an odd way to keep people interested in
your game. If they want to charge more for DLC etc. I get that but to take away what was already in the game? Any thoughts?

I understand you i dont remember the name of my favorite mode but it had no radar or heavy ammo and i cant even play it anymore i shined in it paying for a dlc to add and remove cool stuff

It is the Bungie way, but yup it sucks especially with Destiny. With the Halo games you had a few years before the next big thing came out and playlists got chopped down drastically. With Destiny for those without TTK its only a year and I hope if enough
players make a fuss Bungie will do something about! I really don't see too much of a point in playing Destiny without TTK at this Point. Bungie might need to take a look at Battlefield and COD, they release new games yearly without cripling the previous year's
game.

I can see having all of the new stuff for the TTK but to take away things that were already in the game, playlist wise, seems aggressive on their part. I guess they figure if they make the gameplay so restricted people will feel almost forced to buy the
TTK. Not this guy! Just time to move on to a new game.

People always used to quit Horde in Gears 2, i would've thought they'd have some sort of punishment for quitters. If Social playlist does come, it will probably require DLC to play.

the whole point of banning those who quit too much is to discourage it, as has a negative impact on your team, and the opposing team, espicially in ranked playlists where you won't get a replacement for the quitter.

Also you only get banned from multiplayer not the campaign.

What would you suggest as an alternative punishment?
