Playing xbox original games on console banned xbox 360

Hello I keep getting an error message when I want to play a xbox original game on my 360 it says an update may be required to play this game. The game is the sims 2 and it is compatible with the 360. Does the console ban remove the option to play these games
or what?

If it's an original Xbox 360 brand hard drive it shouldn't be having an issue playing the game. And the disk appears to be fine since it plays on your Xbox 360 S console.

Do you know anyone with an original Xbox 360 console like yours that would let you try Tony Hawk 3 on just to see if it works for that console? I'm just wondering if the issue is specific to your original Xbox 360 consoles, or multiple original Xbox 360 consoles.

 

Xbox Originals need title updates from Xbox LIVE.

Banned consoles cannot connect to Xbox LIVE.

pothead3, title updates are not legally available anyone other than a direct connection to Xbox LIVE. The user in question needs a title update not a system update. Please try your best not to give out incorrect data.

 

Probably the only way to do that would be to find the BC compatibility files that were available made available in the past. Microsoft no longer has them available online, but if you look into the discs from OXM (Official Xbox Magazine) some of them did
have those files on them for people that did not have internet access. I cannot remember what issues might have had those, but it would have been from the first couple of years of the Xbox 360 lifetime. They have not been on the discs for a few years as I
recall, so recent issues would probably be of no help. But if your banned console does not have an official Xbox hard drive or has been altered in some way (which may have caused the ban to begin with) this probably won't work either. It is also possible that
this option may have been patched out of the system with dashboard updates, this I don't know. The easiest and best solution would be to buy a new console.
