Playing xbox games offline is a problem.

Hi.

There is a huge problem with the fact that offline gaming is NOT much of a choice that we as gamers have.

I've been playing video games since I was 5 years old, and single player gaming is a VERY IMPORTANT thing to me almost as much as being able to play online.

But the problem is, (I DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO INTERNET ON MY CONSOLE)

but no matter, I have a bunch of single player games i've bought and internet does not matter to me.

I have, the new "Call of duty world world at war 2"

"Monster Hunter World"

"Metal Gear Solid The zombie game"

"Steep"

And many many more.

But WAIT!!!

I've installed the game, and to play MOST of these games, I NEED TO UPDATE THE GAME!!!

(Wait What?!?!?)

I just paid 60 USD and more on some like GEARS OF WAR, which was the 100 USD edition, and SOME FEATURES on it require me to UPDATE.

So the only thing on GEARS OF WAR I can do is Single player campaign.

I cant even play with BOTS until I UPDATE.

At least gears has single player.

But the call of duty and monster hunter, I cant even START THE GAME until I UPDATE IT.

(WHAT IN THE WORLD!!?????!!!!)

I just bought these games NEW!!!!

And no where on the front did it say, (ONLINE REQUIRED TO PLAY OR EVEN START GAME)

So what happens now?

I lose 60 USD or more?

(YEP it seems thats exactly what is happening)

And thats not even anything compared to the feeling of HAVING THE GAME IN FRONT OF YOU, AND NOT BEING ABLE TO PLAY IT AT ALL!!!

Or even RETURN IT FOR MY MONEY BACK.

But mostly ITS RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME, and I CAN'T PLAY IT AT ALL!!!

What FRUSTRATION AND HEART BREAK!!!

And this seems to be MOST of the fames now.

If you're going to make a game single player, PLEASE!!

And i say PLEASE!!!

Add whatever needs to be added to the game BEFORE YOU RELEASE IT!!!!

That way THOSE WITHOUT INTERNET DON'T NEED TO DOWNLOAD ANYTHING EXTRA!!!

I'm paying for the game FULL PRICE!

I do not need to come home with the excitement of getting ready to play and then have this happen.

PLEASE!

Fix this issue.

Stop making games this way.

It's really becoming a problem because now, from my deductive intuition, I can already see that this will become a trend, and then next thing you know, console users without internet, will be dropped off the game and console buying list.

Goodbye single player game sales due to, (UPDATE REQUIRED TO PLAY)

yeah I'm thinking this is a xbox live problem. have any of you guys tried playing the games offline? try it...

Had a look on the back of my copy of Battleborn & it does say in big red words that it is online only so I would think that's the same on other online only games.

 

A lot of that should actually be geared towards the developers, but unfortunately that's how a lot of modern gaming is these days. Consumers demand new games so developers rush to get them out which causes day one updates.

 

You're very right.

I just didn't know how to get it directly to them.

My anger for these recent events just geared me directly to come here and out it.

In hopes that the right people will see it.

Oh my head hurts.

I'm just so broken hearted about it.

It sucks, and if it continues, I see myself leaving video games and new consoles in the past if this doesn't change.

We're afraid that Xbox One games including single-player only games can require an Internet connection to Xbox Live for critical game updates to apply. With games offering both single-player and multi-player game modes, you'll only be able to experience
half of the game without an Internet connection.
