Playing Xbox 360 on 4k TV Problems

Howdy! Last night I became the proud owner of a Sony X720E | LED | 4K Ultra HD | High Dynamic Range (HDR) | Smart TV after upgrading from a Samsung 1080. I put in a Blu-Ray DVD and it looked fantastic and went to look at Netflix and was equally impressed.

Then I went to Amazon Prime and looked a film in my library and though it looked blurry and just awful and then put in a Mass Effect 2 on my Xbox 360 and was how shocked at how bad the picture looked. I went to my console's setting and saw a message about
attaching an HD AV cable to enable higher performance.

Now I'm a total noob when it comes to the world of home entertainment so any help on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

    :)

LG OLED55E6P Problems with Xbox One S

    I have two problems

    • My Xbox Remote control doesn't seem to work for volume control. Changing channels works and the other buttons like play pause and RR FF. Yes I went through the setup process.
    • All the settings to control my TV through Xbox don't work. I used to be able to turn on my tv via the xbox. Also, when the xbox turned off, so did the TV.
Is there some sort of Xbox One S setup guide for 4K TV's? I went to "Advanced Video Settings" -> "$K TV details" and the only thing it says is"Your TV supports 4K UHD (60Hz).

For Watching TV's or Movies and Playing games it says my TV doesn't support:

    • 4k 10-bit at 24Hz
    • 4K at 50Hz
    • 4k 10-bit at 60Hz
    • HDR10 for video
    • 4K 10-bit at 60Hz for playing games
    • HDR10 for gaming

  3. Is there anyway I can make games look better on my 4K tv

I have a LG 4k Tv and I would like to know if theirs a way to make the graphics look any better while playing the Xbox one. When I bought my 4k TV I thought Xbox supported 4k, but it doesn't, it lessens the quality on games and makes it look ugly. Is there
a way to set my 4k TV to 1080p or is there any way to make games look better on 4k

Playing Xbox 360 on 4k TV Problems

    Hi

I'm guessing that when you changed television you also got a bigger screen? Don't forget that if you do have a bigger screen that you are more likely to notice differences in the image that you may have not seen with a smaller screen.

Thanks for replying! And I think you are correct for the most part;. is the best way to not see any is to get native/upscaled 4k content and players (console and blu ray)?

I did find out that that part of the problem is that I hadn't played ME in a loong time so I forgot the resolution and had a false expectation. I'm not sure why Arrival looked less good, but I did get a library copy of the Blu ray and compared and it
seems that my eyes are seeing more differences than actually might be there. I realize also that in the showroom, the pictures always look better b/c they are using native 4k content, etc.

This all leads me to a question re: Xbox One X vs. native 4K blu ray player (LG has one for $80 right now (UP875). Given that due for an Xbox upgrade (played about as many games as I like on the 360) as I'd like to keep only to
two upgrades behind, it is better to fork out the dough for a used Xbox One X or get a Xbox One S and the budget blu ray player? The question is whether the Xbox One X (and I realize I've got Xbox fans here) can play movies (which I adore and check out as
many Criterion Classics as I can) as *well* as a native 4k blu-ray player; the LG got high ratings from Cnet.

Anyway, will be asking this on an Xbox One forum, but anyone who cares to answer here is appreciated.

Don't forget that an Xbox One S also has a built in 4K player and you can also benefit from HDR in compatible gaming.

I used an Xbox One S on my 55" 4K HDR TV for a number of months before upgrading to an Xbox One X and was very happy with using the console for playing games, watching UHD Blu Rays and using streaming services such as Netflix.

Why do some Xbox 360 games run and look terrible on the Xbox series x even though they were perfect on an Xbox one

Anything changed since you last played, like a new 4K TV? Xbox 360 games were 720P, they won't appear sharp on a 4K TV.

Couple more questions about Xbox 360 on 4K TV

    Thanks for your response.

If an Xbox One X looks great on the 4K TV, will the Xbox 360 look good too? Would the fact that it is a 4K TV actually hinder the Xbox 360?
