Playing videos off USB - Help

Hi All,

Tried searching with no results.

I work in video production so have lots of different file types that I use frequently.

I tried playing an .avi file on my xbox one via USB and the frame rate drops to probably 10fps for 1 second every 5. This happens with every .avi I've tried, .mkv won't play, .mp4 won't play, yet XBOX claim that a massive list of file formats will play.

I've tried turning off anything going on in the background by clicking start and exiting so theres no background stuff running in case it was a ram issue, which I hope it wouldn't be.

I've searched a lot about this issue and no one seems to have the same, have I got a faulty xbox?

Any suggestions or advice appreciated

@ UnraisedCoast47 the link dint help as its nothing ive downloaded they were working one day an then not the next but thanks for the help!

@ Mister Mascot yes i am in the preview program and recently joined the new preview program so that might be it!

the videos im trying to play i have played them all before avi mp4 mostly with the odd mkv i will look and post in the preview forum to see if anyone is having same trouble thank you for your help!

 

I've not had any issues with playing from a usb 3

0 hdd but I had frame rate issues with a pen drive

I have played mp4s but mkvs are going to be added at next update along with dlns

 

hmm thanks mate I'll try usb 3 hdd. Was the pen drive 2 or 3?
