Playing videos from Hard Drive for about 5min. Crashes Xbox 1 completely.

I try to play .mkv files 720p on the Media player App it works for about 5 min then it crashes completely to a dead Xbox then I have to turn it back on... I have seen other topics about these sorts of issues but they are unresolved or robot answers that
just say reformat and useless stuff that I have tried anyway. I have had a lot of issues with this system and it definitely lacks from previous generations. Is this common for it to be unable to play videos off a simple 500GB drive? I don't want to keep trying
for it may break it being such a harsh shutdown without warning and the sound goes all messed up like it's overheating. It is the 1TB system COD version up to date with software.

Xbox 360 won't boot with USB external hard drive connected

This hard drive is new; just purchased about 3 days ago.

Yeah, I thought it might be because of some sort of built-in limitation, but the 500GB drive works just fine, as does my 32GB flash drive. And the 500GB hard drive has about 300GB of videos that the Xbox 360 has no problems reading and playing.

Xbox 360 Hardrive(250GB) 1 Click noise HELP PLEASE

I turn on my xbox 360, I hear this 1 click noise in my xbox. My xbox automatically crashes, then I tried to narrow it down, I switched back to my regular 20GB hard drive, then my xbox works perfectly. Now, I conclude that it's my 250GB hard drive thats making
the 1 click sound, and then crashes. Is there any solution to this?

I reset my console, and at first, it appeared to resolve the issue as I was able to play Fortnite for about 1 hour, but then the console started to crash again, and now I can't complete a single game of Fortnite without the console crashing. I also played Call of Duty Warzone, and the console crashed after about 30 min of playing. My system has a 1TB internal storage where all my games and apps are stored, so I don't use any external hard drives.

No, there's no way to transfer video files to the Xbox 360 hard drive. The best way to play your video files is by putting them onto a USB drive and playing them from the built in video player.

Playing from disc, I've had a few crashes while going to the HUB only, or switching to missions in the HUB. The game hasn't crashed or frozen while playing or loading the game though. I'm using the 360 black 250GB drive model, I'm also saving/loading from
a USB stick drive and not from the hard drive.

I am finding this as well. playing video. and after a while hard drive gets dropped its annoying. Seagate backup plus slim.USB 3.0 1 TB external hard drive.
