Playing on 2 Xbox One's - for my son

My son currently has an Xbox One at his mom's house and a 360 at mine. I want to buy him an Xbox One but was wondering a couple things.

1. Is logging in the same as it was when having 2 360's? Just have to wait for it to sync?

2. Will game data be available on both systems? For example he's level 23 on Destiny @ his mom's, would he still be level 23 at my house?

3. Could he use an external hard drive to load the games on bring that back and forth and would he still need the discs?

Xbox 360 as TV for snap

We have a white Xbox 360, and an Xbox One.

My son wants to be able to snap the 360 on the screen with the One's game...

Is this possible? If so, how?

 

Xbox One Energy-Inefficient?

By 2 others I mean, 2 more Xbox One's. I have 3 active Xbox One's set to Instant On.

 

hi yes all of his info and saved data are stored in the cloud so he can play anywhere. He would just have to log in like normal and download his gamertag to the new Xbox. External hard drives are now supported so he could disconnect the ext hdd and take
it with him and use it one any xbox one console as long as he's logged in. If you have any other question please don't hesitate to ask. Hope this info was helpful.

 

You set his xbox at his mums house to his 'home' xbox then everything will sync accross when he signs in, including games if bought digitally. If he has physical disks he will have to bring them with him.

Yes an external drive can be used, but again only digital copies can be fully stored on it. make sure it's USB 3.0 and above 250gb it will get formatted to xbox and can be hot swapped between xboxes. You can preload the disk data onto the external drive
but would still need the physical disk.

This is to prevent piracy, it's a good reason to go digital

Lastly for clarity all xbox one saves are in the cloud and on the machine so if you login somewhere else it will update from the cloud.

 

Not sure about logging in on 2 Xbox One's but I am fairly confident it is as easy, or easier than on Xbox 360.

Yes his level 23 on Destiny will still be a level 23 at your house.

As far as disc games, he will need to have the disc in order to play those games.

 

I totally forgot about the game discs. If all of his games are disc based then he will have to use them in the new console in order to play. If all of his games are digital games then he won't need the disc at all. That's one of the many advantages for going
all digital. The only down side is that there is no trade value but if you delete the game and decide you want to play it later all you have to do is download it without paying again.

Nope either is fine, just means you could play games while he is still signed in at his mums

As long as he is not playing them. Its called Family Sharing and not many people seem to know about it, yet when PS4 said they were doing it but limiting it to a few hours the internet thought it was the second coming

anyway i digress, I would recommend setting the most used console to the home one, but I have not tested it so could not say for sure.
