    Playing my MP3 files while playing games...Now possible ? If so how?


    So the Media Player update landed and with that and the storage update my Xbox One can no play MP3 files etc like my Xbox 360 has been able to do for nearly 10 years. Wohoo! Except whenever I try to queue up a playist of MP3 files, then go back to my game
    it closes Media player. I've tried snapping it, media player won't snap.

    What am I doing wrong?

    All I want to do is play my own music instead of the game music like I have been able to do with every game on the Xbox 360 but this STILL doesn't seem to be possible.

    Or is it? Please let me know if yo have managed to do this, or do we have to wait for ANOTHER update?

    What error code is it please?

    I would advise you to uninstall the app and then reinstall and see if this works?

    Hey Top! You mention that MP3 files play fine, so what format are these other files that aren't working? Can you convert them to MP3 format to see if they work? Let us know, thanks!

    Xbox sees computer, but not music

    Hi there! What kind of files are you trying to play? If it is .m4a files, the XBOX won't recognize the file and won't play them. It does recognize .mp3 and .wma files. You can convert these files by downloading a conversion program, such as WinZip, to convert
    these files into MP3 files. Most, if not all, of these conversion programs for Windows 7 (its the OS I currently use) are free of charge. Hope this helps!

    DRM'ed AAC files will not play. Only DRM-free AAC and MP3 files will be playable.
