Playing music through headset, and using Mic?

it is possible that it is the controller 3.5mm headset jack. The internal housing is possibly worn out. Try plugging the headset into your phone and playing some music through the headset. If the headset plays music, then it is the controller. If it does
not play music then it is the headset. With tech stuff you have to use process of elimination to figure out the problem usually!

Errmmm.... Can't you just play music using the Xbox Spotify app?

The music still plays through the headset. That's what I do... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm just wondering if you have a mic on your computer that is active as well as your headset mic.

If you are wanting to listen to music/watch videos while you play games/talk to your friends, you could use some phone ear buds (the ones that go in your ear) and put your headset on, with the ear buds in, so you listen to music and hear the video audio,
while playing games/talking to friends. That's usually what I do when streaming FM7 or Halo 5.

I play with sound on, but through my headset. I like playing sound through my headset while gaming and playing music. Its weird for me play it through the TV unless Im alone.

[/quote] Are you being serious? Yes, I have it plugged in sometimes, sometimes, I dont, no I do not play music, sing, or rap into my headset, haha Kinect as a mic.
