I’m unable to pay any game online that has multiplayer. I get a series of error messages or loading screens depending on what game I play. On rocket league I get error 71. On fortnite I’m stuck in the loading screen that says Checking for updates underneath the fortnite logo. On Warzone I’m on a loading screen that says connecting to Xbox Live. Forza Horizon 5 says the servers are unavailable. Skate 3 and Black Ops 2 both say that I’m not connected to Xbox live when I try and connect via the Xbox 360 interface it says I’m already connected. It also says this on the xbox series x dashboard I’ve tried power cycling my Xbox . Signing in and out doesn’t work either. The problem is that this happens intermittently. All weekend I had no problems. It didn’t work on last Wednesday and Thursday but worked on Friday. I have another Xbox series X connected to the same WiFi and that has no problems. No other devices in my house have issues accessing the network.

Apps like Spotify and BBC IPlayer will work. And I can also join Xbox parties. Joining a game through an Xbox party yields the same results as trying to load into an online game myself. I need help I’ve run out of options.

Kindly perform an extended powercycle and reset your network hardware by following the steps below:

1. Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem, or gateway for 5 minutes. If you have a router and a modem, unplug the power cable from both devices.

2. Press and hold the Xbox button on your console for 10 seconds or until it turns off then wait for 2 minutes before turning it on again.

3. After 5 minutes, plug the modem or gateway in first, and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

4. If you are using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

If that didn’t work, resetting the console keeping games and apps will be the next option. Don't worry because as long as you're connected to Xbox Live your saved progress, games, will not be deleted. It will remove all of your accounts but you can add all of them later on.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

Select Reset console.
