Playing Games while Offline

Hello, today my internet connection was down and I said okay no problem I have some games that do not need internet, so I opened The Witcher 3 and boom, it tells me that I need to be online to play this game. Can somebody explain?

How do I avoid game freeze and massive disc read errors problems?

Why I'm force to playing online while being offline because right now I'm offline? Two days straight of game freezing and might have to stop playing video games.

If you appear offline while playing a game, then actually get offline, does what you were doing show up in your activity?

If the console is set as your "Home" console, you should not have any issues playing the games purchased with your Gamertag offline. If you have set the console as your Home console and are still having issues you can try going into the Network Settings
on your console and selecting "Go Offline".

I am not able to set this console as my home xbox. Recently, I gave my account details to my friend so he can download a game using game sharing, and ever since I cannot set it as my home. It says I have 3 times to switch each year but I believe I used it
only once.

Also, I tried going offline and opening a game and it still does not work, even though I am signed in to my account before disconnecting the internet.

If I may ask, what is the game that you're trying to play offline?

This will really depend with the game so we need to check and validate.

The game I have been trying to play offline is "For Honor" (from Ubisoft), which is a mainly online-focused game, but there is a single-player campaign mode with no matchmaking whatsoever.

Are you playing your games while connected to Xbox Live/Network connection or offline?

Because if you're playing your games while offline, by resetting the console it will delete all local saved games.
