Playing games offline/licence tranafer

I have just had to purchase ANOTHER 360 console. So have had to go through the whole licence transfer thing on my profile. Problem is (yet again) that I am still unable to play my games offline?? This happened with my last console, and the only solution
I found was to re-download EVERY SINGLE GAME AGAIN!! Bearing in mind I have about 120 full games on my 500gb hard drive.

I really do not want to have to do this again. Last time it took 3 or 5 days to complete! I don't understand the point of transferring licences if you still can't play the games that have been bought and paid for offline? I don't have wifi in my home and
only use a hotspot on my phone when I need to. So I need to have access to my game library offline.

Does anyone know how I can achieve this without having to re-download a 100 + games again?

You have to redownload the games after a license transfer in order for the system to download the licenses to the console. As long as you don't uninstall everything before redownloading, the system only needs to download the license so it shouldn't take
as long as redownloading the full game data. But otherwise, there is no way around that.

The way it works with licences is you get 2 licences, that's one for the account and one for the console it was downloaded with. The console licence can be transferred. It means that you can play your games offline using the console they were downloaded
on, but other consoles you play the game on, you have to be connected to xbox live to play it.

as gears 4 is in gamepass that licence overwrites your own licence whilst subscribed and gamepass games cannot be played offline i believe. also there are a large amount of gold games that require online connection to run.

but there is another option to try as you are not connected.

go to settings, network and select offline. this then tells the console to run in offline mode.

till 14 feb .... i have the ability to play any game pass or ea games offline .... just run the game once online to download the licence ...then go offline and play the game offline ... but after 14 feb .... it doesn't work ..is that a bug that MS will resolve ???

The issue is that you're on a different console, so you do not have the console licences on your current machine. As such, your profile needs to be signed into Live in order to play the games. If you are offline, they remain as Trial versions.

Now, to get around that and allow you to play the games even offline, you will need to perform a licence transfer, details about which you can find at
http://Xbox.com/DRM

After doing that, download the games again (no need to delete them first, just download from your Download History - on the console, Settings/Account/Download History) and the licences will update.

After this you will be able to play the games once more, even while offline.

This of course requires that you move the console to somewhere where you can get it connected to the Internet. However, because you do not need to download the full games again if they are on the hard drive (just the licences), the entire process should
be fairly quick.
