Playing games between accounts on the same Xbox

Hi

So ive played Halo 5 since the day it came out, and ive always had two accounts i use to play it. These accounts have both been on my xbox for years and ive never had a problem switching back and forth and playing halo 5 through both accounts. The problem
is I bought one copy of halo 5, and said copy belongs to this account. When i tried to switch accounts and play today, Xbox required me to purchase another copy of Halo 5. Ive never had that problem before and now cant access my second halo 5 profile without
buying another copy. I know its a very specific problem, but has anybody else had this come up recently?

Nothing an be transferred between accounts. However, if you're using a One you can set the console as your Home console in order to share the games with other accounts. My Home Xbox Setting on Xbox One | Share Your Xbox One

It sounds like your console is no longer set as your Home. If you just got a new console or have switched it to somewhere else, that would be the problem.

Sounds like you purchased the game on your main account right? Your second account can only play a game your main account purchased if your Xbox is set to your home Xbox.

So, set your current Xbox to your home Xbox and it should be fine. Keep this in mind though, you can only set a console as your home Xbox a total of fives times! For more info on setting an Xbox as your home use this link, My Home Xbox Setting on Xbox One | Share Your Xbox One

The alternative to home console is as long as the main account you purchased Halo 5 is logged in, you should be able to play on your al.
