Playing game, Xbox makes clicking noise? Then game/console freezes

I got my console back in early July, and this problem has been happening, every now and then, the past couple of months. I've noticed it happening on various games, so far, COD: Ghosts, Diablo 3, Destiny, and, more recently, Sunset Overdrive. While I'm playing,
with no specific moment/action, my console starts making this clicking-like noise, and then my game/console would freeze soon after, leading me to reset the console. There isn't any damage to the discs when I remove them after this happens. And, it's not in
the title, but I have also experienced the grinding-like noise a couple of times within the past couple of months, but have not heard it as of recently.. Should I take this out to my local Microsoft store for a checkup/repair?

Wow, so I'm not crazy, you're actually hearing that awful clicking noise when Skyrim freezes?

...ok, 1 month later...

Started a new char, 45 hours in, again, freezes and starts making "click" noises.

At this point I'm 99% certain it's a game issue, since the console's been used like crazy in other games with no such problems.

Speak up if you also have this issue, would be nice trying to figure out a solution.

 

yes i would advise taking it in for them to look at. this is not normal and you should not have to deal with that
