Discus and support Playing game disc vs installing or downloading.....how???? in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; we are trying to insert a game disc and just play it....why does it INSIST on installing the game?     we are trying to insert a game disc and just play it....why does it INSIST on installing the game? We just want our son to be able to play the games we bought him. Any advice? what are we missing? Help please

    Do you have the game installed to your hd or just playing off the disc?

    If just playing off the disc, try installing it.

    So I just bought black ops 2 and it wont play or let me completely install it. Someone help because I spent $60 on a piece of plastic, that does not work. Please tell me what I can do before I go up to GameStop and probably get kicked out for chewing their

    No, the disc copies of games you purchased need to have the disc in the console to play, even after installation. There are upsides and downsides to disc vs. downloaded games, this is one of the downsides of buying a physical copy.

    You can't play a disc game while installing another disc game

    But you can play a disc game while another is downloading, play a download while installing a disc or play a download while installing another download.

    How are you playing the game: from the disc, installed from the disc, or Games on Demand? If installed/downloaded, delete the file, clear cache, restart, and re-install/re-download. Go ahead and add the map pack(s) into this round too, just to make sure
    everything is a fresh install.

    I think Errick was saying to install Disc 1 to your system instead of just disk 2. That way it plays from the HDD vs the disc.
