    Why do we need to pay for Gold Membership to play a Free Game Like Fortnite BR? In other platforms like PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, PC you dont need to pay anything to play fortnite.

    Hi. I'm playing Fortnite and I don't understand, why i must have Gold membership to play it, when the Fortnite Is free to play game. Yesterday I wrote on Xbox support And they told me write about it on our Forum. There is a chance that they will make vote
    about free fortnite. It would be playable without gold.

    I udated fortnite to season 6 and it keeps crashing after logging in i cant play the game and can u please make fortnite free can we play it without gold membership

    Hello, this is how the Xbox works. Gold LIVE membership is needed. To make you play online. It's needed for online activity, not just for multiplayer.

    You will need an XBox Gold membership to play any games online. You can also buy monthly XBox gold cards.
    PS also requires their memberships to play online games

    Except of Fortnite, reason is that they are rising their console profit selling rate by making fortnite free to play without membership

    Then why not xbox can make fortnite free to play without xbox live gold membership
