Playing Destiny (game) it freezes the game then the xbox

I am using an Xbox One console, I have a disc for my version and played the game with no incident for the first few days and then with increasing frequency the issue has appeared

The Issue: While playing, usually triggered by an action, any action really melee, super activation etc. the sound for enemy gun fire cuts out. Eventually after a minute or two more my gun fire noise cuts out. Eventually all sound in general is killed and
no menus or item pick-ups will load on my screen. This happens when I am in a party and fireteam within a few minutes, it happens in a fireteam but not in a party after a little more time maybe 10-30 minutes, solo seems the best option atm because it rarely
messes up on patrol by myself, but it still happens. The first few days I did all these things with no incident. When I encounter a loading screen while in this state the game freezes, if I go to Xbox home and try to start something else (my method of closing
whatever game is pulled up) it freezes my xbox.

The Issue in simple technical terms: While playing my game the sound systematically cuts out and things stop loading in the game. Eventually the game freezes, I go to the home page and try to do anything else and the Xbox freezes. It didn't used to happen
on any game and it didn't happen to this game the first few days. Its almost like a memory leak building up and then crashing the system.

Tried Solutions: I have tried reinstalling the game but that seemed to have no effect. I also have completely reset my xbox (turn off unplug from wall) several times before and after reinstall. I have read somewhere that maybe a factory reset might help
and that is my next thing to try. I would like to say this issue of freezing has appeared in other games before for other people (not me) minus the sound issue and it appears to be an Xbox One issue and I will be sending a forum post to Bungie as well as
I am not entirely sure where the problem lies.

Xbox 360 games dropping frames (please respond)

So recently I've noticed my Xbox 360 games dropping frames ever since a recent Destiny update. The only games I've noticed this happening in are: Dead Space 2, Destiny, and COD Advanced Warfare. It's not a lot but it's noticeable. My game will freeze for
a split second and then resume normally. Can someone help me? Any ideas other then getting my Xbox repaired because I don't think that's the issue.

 

Xbox 360 not working properly

My 360 is taking a long time to load anything. The opening dash board, recent activities...everything. I can get into my destiny game and play that ok. But netflix only partially loads and YouTube doesn't load at all. If I ever hit the xbox button in the
middle of my controller to check a message then everything stops working. If I'm playing destiny, the games doesnt freeze, but nothing loads at all, do I have to turn the xbox off and start over. Anybody got any suggestions?

 

I have pretty much the same issue I have plus infinite loading and that game crashing to dashboard, but back to yours I have tried all the same things and have gotten no where. Desperately seeking a solution this is driving me insane, video games are supposed
to be fun and or relaxing. This isn't fun and what's the point of having Xbox live when when I can't even play the game properly. I get two types of freezing tho one where the whole system freezes and if I try to go to dashboard the Xbox makes a bad sounding
noise and then a picture like old tv's when they couldn't get reception. The other is where the OS is unfrozen but the game is I can quit the game and start it up but it tends to be the whole system that freezes than just the game

 

Well I am glad I am not the only one with this issue, good to know I'm not alone. I tried the system reset to factory default and re-installing to no luck. Unless my Xbox is faulty I have no other ideas than sending the Xbox in, but it has worked fine
until now.

I should also note through more attempts to play the game the issue appears to have gotten worse after the factory restore. It now freezes after one loading screen. Meaning I can start the game go to one place and then once I go past a certain point it
freezes.

 

I have the same issue. The sound one not so much sometimes the sound just doesn't work but I quit the game and start again and it comes back. But mine likes to freeze in certain locations most of earth is fine except occasionally at the divide it locks up
but the moon and Venus is guarenteed lock up all over. Tower I have frozen once however mars seems mostly fine too. Have only been there a couple times because of strike playlist or a friend takes me there. I'm waiting to borrow a disk from a friend to see
if there is occasionally fragmented disks out there because his works fine on his xbox one. Bungie is severely annoying because the only way to contact them is to use forums and pray for a response. I originally posted almost a week ago now with nothing so
far. I tried calling activision but for destiny support they tell you to go to bungie. I wish they had email support. I just want to know someone is listening. I've tried all other troubleshooting avenues

 

So it was definitely my system, I went and bought a new xbox and will be sending in my old one to get fixed soon (hopefully). Not only does this new system run much more silent but it also downloaded destiny in 20 minutes as opposed to 2 hours. Sorry this
isn't very good news guys I know no one wants to drop another 4-5 hundred bucks for a new system or wait like 2 weeks for a repair, but that's the only thing that would fix my situation.

Has anyone else found a solution to this problem other than buying a new xbox? I found out that my xbox has errors which caused it to halt any updates needed and thought that would fix it. Well, it didn't, problem is still there with the game. None of my
other games are freezing. My network works fine. Where do I get my xbox repaired, gamestop?

 

I am having the same exact problem described in the opening post. When trying to register my xbox, the xbox website throws a script error... I have tried everything within warranty to fix it and have only had my box for a little over a month. As the op
stated, it acts like a memory leak. In addition, the hdd occasionally makes a clicking sound during the occurrence of the problem.

 

any update on this? I am having the same issues. systemic cut out of sound and loading freeze which freezes the xbox one.

 

after not having this issue at all ever, started having the same freezing issues last night with Destiny and now I am at the point (2 calls to support later) that my xbone wont even completely power on. it goes between black screen if Im lucky to xbone appearing
to be on but no signal on my tv. tried power cycling, different hdmi cables, different tvs, etc. - wanted to at least get into my dashboard and do a system restore but couldnt even get that far. thankfully I have the protection plan thru Best Buy and will
bring it in for a replacement.

 

Has anyone had any luck fixing this just yet? It's crazy that so many have echoed the same issue and have seen the exact sequence of events. I saw the same thing:

Worked for the first 9 days, then started having shots go silent on the audio, then all the audio was lost, and then the game would freeze up the xbox until pressing power button multiple times.

I now can't get my 360 (slim) to boot with or without the game.

Extremely frustrating that it'd be possible for a game to do this to the hardware. I made the initial assumption that it was a freak accident of my Xbox. But clearly this is something related to the game as everyone is seeing the same sequence of events.

Nothing like shelling out $60 for a game and $60 for a new slim hard drive from Microsoft just to have it break my system 9 days later....
