Playing dark souls 1 on Xbox One compatibility mode, downloaded direct from Xbox store (DS3 ...

I was excited to get a copy of DS1 for my our Xbone because I played DS1 on our older Xbox 360 which now is derelict and no longer connects to the internet. After downloading it via the Xbox store on my Xbone i happily started a new character and eventually
got the Gold Serpent Ring in Sen's fortress. After equipping it and reaching 10 Humanity i eventually noticed that my Item discover rate was only 210. I quickly checked the ring by taking it off and on. whether i had the ring on our not the item discovery
didn't change. Otherwise the item discover stat is working (item discover went down when i lost some humanity). This is a problem i never encountered on the physical Xbox 360. (Xbone seems to run backwards compatibility on a virtual Xbox 360)

Upon discovering this problem i quickly searched the CGS Ring to see if some patch or update had made the conditions for using the ring different, and i found none.What i
did find was other people having the same problem. Notably in the comment section of a wiki article concerning the ring

I know this is an in-game issue but the only variable i am aware of is the switch from 360 to Xbone legacy compatibility. The copy on our 360 was also downloaded directly from the Xbox store, and i do not own a physical version as of this post.

I would greatly appreciate advice on the subject, such as any known fixes or even if it is a known issue to Microsoft and/or the DS1's developers.

For farming humanity:

Try to get this ring before you do your Depths-rat-runs:

It'll boost your discovery from 100 to 300! With it equipped I was able to farm about 30 humanity in about 1 1/2 hours.

Sounds like false advertising to me

 

^ I'm having the same issue.

 

I'm not even sure what would cause it. is the virtual 360 programmed differently? Does the DS1 copy that is being distributed via the Xbox store flawed/glitched somehow? Could be wrong but i guessing the latter. Could it even be a problem with my Xbone model
or software? (i always install the latest updates)

The worst part is I'm not expecting a fix, which would totally suck as CGSR and Symbol of Avarice are great for doubling the max item discover (via humanity) which is a big element in grinding which is in turn itself a big element of the Souls series. :/

 

How can i get my code guys? i still have not revived my code any ideas?

 

I received mine directly in my message tab in the xbone, same as if someone sent me a message except it was from xbox.

I'm having the same issue, and the lack of an official response after months is definitely starting to worry me. this game was meant for replay-ability and these specific items (i haven't recieved the item in game yet, however the "symbol of avarice" is
also reportedly not boosting the item discovery stat properly) are required to get the achievements for the looting rare items within a reasonable 3 playthroughs. these items do affect this games enjoyability directly, please look into the issue, and at the
very least, provide an update on whether this problem is being fixed, is planned on being fixed, or if there are no plans to fix it. Any new info on this problem would be greatly appreciated.

 

I had the same issue, but once i discovered the symbol of avarice it was fixed.

 

I also have problem but slightly different nature, Is it possible to buy a dark souls for x one? I mean I got only dark souls and dark souls 2 box game so I cannot bring it from my X360 to one...in the shop i can see only option "bundle only" and if i click
it my screen goes down and...nothing else.
