Discus and support playing blurays and DVDs on xbox one - I get sound but no video in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; I have installed and re-installed the blu-ray app, but whenever I try to play a bluray or DVD disc I get the sound but no video I can see the pop-up...     playing blurays and DVDs on xbox one - I get sound but no video


    I have installed and re-installed the blu-ray app, but whenever I try to play a bluray or DVD disc I get the sound but no video

    I can see the pop-up menu and the other controls but no image from the film. I can view the chapter images (via the pop-up menu not from the disc menus), but press play and the sound comes on, but no image

    I am in the UK and using the correct region discs

    What DVD are you trying to play? What prevents you from playing the DVD? Did you make sure that the DVD matches your region, and isn't imported?

    All 200+ DVDs and BluRays in my collection work perfectly fine on my Xbox One X as well as my old original Day One Xbox One.

    4k UHD Blu Ray Disc Not Working on Xbox One X

    In the same situation as this, guy. We bought xbox one x, same LG B7 tv, and four 4k UHD blu rays two days ago. Only 1 of the blurays works and the other 3 freeze their video after 1 second, but the sound keeps playing.

    did you find the answer for your problem? I've the same problem. playing a game is no problem and when I put in a blu-ray or dvd I just have sound and no video

    Have you tried to uninstall the blu-ray app and reinstall it from the Xbox Store to see if that helps? Are you using standard blu-ray discs or 4K UHD blu-rays?

    Thanks for the info, what type of tv are you using? Can you tell us the Make and Model? Has this ever worked for you and have you tried another HDMI cable yet to see if it helps?
