Playing against friends - FIFA 16

Hello

My first post here, please bear with me, my son (age 12) has just got his first XBox One and is having a problem with FIFA 16.

On his old XBox 360, he could play FIFA 15 against his friends or search for an opponent online. He tried to do this last night on his new console and when he searched for opponents, it said there were none, and when he went to a friend's profile to send
a game request, the "Invite to game" link was greyed out.

I've checked his online settings and I can't see anything there that would prevent him from doing this and yes, he does have a current XBox Live Gold account (or whatever it's called!)

If anyone could help me I would be very, very grateful (in simple English please, no technical terms as I barely even know how to turn the XBox on!!)

It's been quite awhile since I played FIFA online, so I'll try to remember... do you know where he is trying to go to invite his friend to play with him? Like.. what menu? Online Friendlies? Ultimate Team Friendly? I think, if you go to online friendly,
it will give you a list of your friends and you just select one and send him/her a game invite. It's pretty simple, but navigating to that spot is tricky.

I've also read that if you put his age at under 13 on his EA account, it won't let him play online. Now, you've said he had no problems playing FIFA 15 online, so I don't know then. Maybe it's something they implemented for the One?

I quit playing it as theyve not fixed the bugs and its full of prats!! I still play against friends occasionally but thats it for me and fifa

As far as I know Fifa 16 isn't a cross platform game so if you are on the xbox one & your friend is playing on the 360 you wouldn't be able to play together.
