    Hi

    I just bought a brand new XBOX One S including the game "Playerunknown's Battleground".

    It took all night to download the game, so I was looking forward to finally playing.

    Unfortunately it seems I can't play with buying the Gold membership.

    Is this true?

    Do you really need to pay a monthly fee to be able to play anything on the console?

    I also tried downloading one of the "Free" games, but this also gave me the error, that my account didn't allow the game.

    Does my 8 year old need his own account to play his games locally?

    I created an account to set up my 8 year olds new Xbox one s. I am not a gamer. My 8 year old will not be playing on line. Does he need his own account to start playing any of his new games?

    Playing online with silver

    My gamer tag is the only one on the console, and it is set to my home Xbox under the only gamertag on the system. On the One S however, I had to log in with my brother's account and make it his home Xbox so that I can use live on my new Xbox one S and game
    share with my brother. I tried playing on my gamer tag on my brother's Xbox one, that is set as my home Xbox, and it says I need to buy gold. But somehow on my original Xbox one, I can play online.

    You need gold membership to play online multiplayer games and the same goes for xbox one free games with gold

    You don't need a gold membership to play single player games

    Thanks for your answer.

    It just don't seem to be an option to play only single player mode. I can only press "a" to continue...

    I guess the "Battleground" is only meant for multiplayer then.

    Not to be able to play some games. But anything multiplayer, or the free games require a good subscription. It is well worth it to purchase a good membership in my opinion with the free games each month and then the multiplayer play.

    I am considering purchasing the new Series X. Before I do I want to know if it is compatible with other Xbox’s when playing Gta 5 Online.

    For example, my cousin plays on the Xbox one s and my brother plays on the original Xbox one. Will I be able to play online with them?
    Short answer, Yes.

    Xbox One,

    Xbox One S,

    Xbox One X,

    Xbox Series S,

    Xbox Series X,

    They will all be able to play the same games online together, no matter who's on which of these consoles.

    I have a similar problem; I just brought a xbox s to replace the Xbox one, but now my son can play the games only if I'm log in. The question I have to remove them from the Xbox one; so they can use the games on the new Xbox s?
