    Playing a 360 game on the xbox one


    Hi fellow gamers i can play xbox 360 games on my xbox one just fine but my better halfs xbox is a diff story, she wants to play black ops 1 and black ops 2 on her xbox one but she can't infact she can't play any 360 games on her xbox one. She puts the game
    in and it says downloading xbox 360 profile about 3 mins later the bar is still empty and it goes to a black screen it then loads the game in this case black ops 2 the intro comes on and then it says please download a 360 profile so i go and download her profile
    and it says connecting a few mins later it says test failed and got to check the connection iv tried everything like downloading a saved game to the cloud and a usb stick and still the same i even got my old 360 down and tried using it to help her on the xbox
    one her profile loads just fine on the 360 but iv tried everything and nothing has happened, she has all the correct updates and iv deleted her account and reinstalled it on her xbox one and the 360 and still no luck

    Cross Console Multiplayer Game play !!! Update please.

    @ Boozy,Keflings is a 360 game so if you are playing a 360 game on the xbox one you can play against/with someone playing the same game on the 360.

    Op wanted to play the xbox one version of GTA with someone playing the 360 version which can't be done.

    Think the only 2 games you can do this with is Happy wars & World of Tanks.

    No.

    The only way would be if your friend was playing a backwards compatible 360 game on the xbox one & you were playing the same game on the 360.

    In theory you can connect a Xbox One S, Xbox One X and Xbox 360 consoles locally. However, the game you intend to play has to support local link play.

    However, for Xbox One games, I know of no game that supports local link play.

    On the Xbox 360, there are several games that allow local network play, and if the Xbox 360 game is backwards compatible, you can also play that Xbox 360 version of the game on your Xbox One.

    However, be aware that you can NOT play the Xbox One version of a game with the Xbox 360 Version of the game. So for example, you can NOT play FIFA 14 on the Xbox One together with a person playing FIFA 14 on the Xbox 360.

    You can however play Halo 3 as a backwards compatible Xbox 360 title on the Xbox One together with someone on a Xbox 360.

    An Xbox 360 game will always be an Xbox 360 game whether it is played on the Xbox 360 or an Xbox One through backward compatibility, same with original Xbox games. They were developed to play on one console. It's only through the magic of back compat they
    play on the One. They are still Xbox 360 and original Xbox games to me.

    Even though you can play Xbox 360 games on Xbox One this is and always be a no go. You can play a 360 game on Xbox one provided it is compatible with someone on 360 but you have never been able to play a Xbox One version of a game with someone who is playing
    a 360 version of the same game.
